Personally, I think the "3rd eye" is spectacular too-especially that orange pupil! Notice too that his eyes are responding to light normally, they are not dilated nor are the pupils more tiny than normal...so much for being on drugs 24-7 as they say even back then. Had he been his pupils would have been so tiny as not to show up and or they would have been odd sized, larger usually even in the light. He supposedly was so "light sensitive" due to taking stuff that is why he wore shades all the time-uh-huh sure. Funny, he was already having problems at home when he did this, was not with her much of the time (they were apart but not publicly) and he supposedly was doing stuff like crazy-downers mainly but here they don't show-surprise! wjh

YHeah...he was "somethin' " even then! He said it was his idea to pose with no shirt against the bed and then on the chair and then there were some that were never used that he did, laying on the bed, then hugging a pillow and sitting on the floor cross legged shirtless and bare foot. And he said he kinda messed his hair up so it looked like he had just woke up maybe. But they didn't use them as he thought they were "too much right then" since things were just starting to be said about him and some people didn't like him at all. What was there not to like? Maybe their own feelings looking at him????? me thinks so! I'd like to see those photos! Have only seen the one where he is leaning back on the bed-his bed apparently from what he said...with no shirt.
I don't think it's anything "too much" but he said that it was back then...in those early times. wjh

That would be a good one to see! I wonder where are those pics that weren't used then...

Wanda, without your remark I wouldn't have seen it (in the picture from 1972 Press Conference) It's really amazing, clearly seen
between hie eyebrows...

Bill Speer put out a book called Elvis: A Golden Celebration, which is where that photo came from, per Elvisnews. This book must be out of print for some time because I can not even locate a used one so far. Not sure if he ever came out with another book under another title. . . . Bill Speer passed away just recently by the way, on Dec. 4 at the age of 89.
Intersting, in an interview with Bill Speer's wife Vacil, it comes across that she was the one who came up with the no shirt idea -- which differs from what Elvis told Wanda. The interview includes another photo too from this series, with Elvis smiling in this one. While Elvis has a gorgeous smile, between the two pics, my preference is for the brooding one.
Here is the interview: http://www.elvisinfonet.com/speer.html
