(Recorded on tape by a friend down front, illegally of course-transcribed and given to me-shows him dealing with a young lady who's "hot to trot" for him. We saw and heard some of this live too.)
Girl screaming: Elvvisss, oh, oh, oh come over here!
Elvis: What? You want what? Who said that? (he's just finished song, is bent over looking at audience.)
Girl: Me! (She stands and jumps up and down.) Me! OH! ME!
Elvis: Okay honey, I'm comin' -give me a minute-unhook me over there...yeah...okay. (Cord hooked up
and Charlie loosens his "tether".)
Girl: Hurry-come here, ELVIS!
Elvis: Okay, what's on your mind-you got me here baby.
Girl: Oh god, oh god! you're so good looking-oh God!
Elvis: I am? You think so....
Girl: Yessss...ohElvis, Oh, oh! (He's holding her hands. She's grabbing at him, he's leaning over.)
Elvis: Stand still honey, how old are you? (She's young.)
Girl: 18-almost 19...I'm old enough for you-oh oh God...can I put my hand...
Elvis: Put your hand where?
Girl: Under your suit...Oh, oh...
Elvis: Under my suit...you want...which hand honey, this one?" (He slids her hand under over his heart)
Girl: Oh God! I feel your heart...Oh Elvis please...
Elvis: Please what...you want somethin' else...you got my heart honey.
Girl: Yesss...yesss...can I have a kiss?
Elvis: Yes dear, you can-you're sweet honey...(bends way over to kiss her/she grabs hold. He has to put his hand on the table to balance.)
Elvis: Man...baby, you wanted that kiss bad...is that it? Anythng else you want from me? (He is kneeling now.)
Girl: Yesss...I'd give you anything...oh, oh...
Elvis: Okay, we got that settled. Honey you better go sit down for you fall...one more kiss. (Quick kiss, puts her back and starts to rise up, she grabs hold again.
Elvis: Whoa...whoa...there...easy honey; don't pull me off here-won't look good layin' in those drinks!
Girl: Oh Elvis, I love you, please let me come up to see you!
Elvis: Honey, you're seein' me now-I don't have nothin' else to see.
Girl: I want you Elvis...Ohhh...oh...
Elvis: Okay honey, let me finish this show...be nice...and sit down. And just watch the show now honey. Okay?
Girl: I will, ohhh, I will, ohhhh, oh! ( She's crying)
Elvis: (Backing away, off mike to band. Man, she almost got me off there-strong little un; watch out for her later...no tellin...she's gonna try.)
Elvis: (On mike) Where were we before I got distracted...Oh, doin' a show. Okay. One night...hit it!
(The girl cries and screams through most of that one and Elvis looks at the audience and grins, says things to the band guys who laugh but we couldn't hear him. He walks back toward her, she just about falls out of her chair and after that he doesn't pay her any attention at all and stays away from her side of the stage. She's crying through most of the show. I asked him later on if she made it upstairs and he said no, he hadn't seen her any place. He had several girls coming and going at that time in his life. No one steady. he and Pris were apart thought the press wasn't that in on what was actually going on since Lisa was coming over and so was Priscilla off and on. They were not "together" much at that time...but no one was talking publicly...just speculation in the rag sheets and lucky guesses.)

The girl sounds hysterical, very much in love with the image. What an effect he had on her, especially for her to have been crying so much. I wonder if older women also "lost it" like that when in his presence. It was sweet of Elvis to give her some personal attention. Always thinking of his fans. But I guess even for him she got to be a bit much after awhile.

When I see pics or movie parts from the audience it seems to me that there was really mass-hysteria.
All women went crazy.
I also love him very much, and I wonder, if I would have had the chance to meen him in person if I would have gone nuts also??
I really don't know. Being very close to him, touch him, smell him etc... must have been hard for all these women to keep calm and pure of toughts

I have seen some sights...and been ashamed to be one of their gender at a few times too. Some younger ones went nuts, some older ones did also and then there were those who were hysterical and it was odd how many times they wouldn't remember being that way or that he even came to them-not until they were told again what happened...then they were better, glassy eyed but better. I know he had that affect-of zapping your brain out to left field and it was a strange experience to "come to" in a different place than you remembered having been-like me when I "woke up" at my sis in laws afer just talking to him on the phone the first time! I've seen women who didn't get a thing from him too, who didn't like him, were totally turned off by him and whom when he tried to get them to respond in some way, at least friendly, shake his hand or something, he got nothing. He'd shake his head slightly and move to the next more eager one. But I noticed him looking at the one who "spurned" him off and on and once he came right up to one of them, stood just a few feet back from her and sang a beautiful song, I think it was Mary in the morning and she kept right on sipping her drink and ignoring him while the rest of her party were enjoying the view and the song. When that one was over, he went back toward the band and he could be heard on the mike saying to them, "win some lose some"-and then drank some water. The band guys, Burton, Swift and Tutt laughed, Charlie too of course.
So that night, he did some really gyrating moves when he did Polk Salad Annie near her table-she didn't even look up. He was puzzled, stymied and a bit put out all at once. But he found a table that was really wild and so he played to them and got what he was looking for.
I think the lady who was so cold was drinking quite a bit and maybe alcohol just turned her to numbness or something. Or she was worried, maybe lost a lot of money she was seated at a "high roller" section. wjh

There were quite a few of them who went for Elvis too-they liked looking at him etc: and maybe were bi-sexual types but he had some of them too. And gay men alot of them! They tried to be macho for him it was downright funny at times. And he was so cool about it, not unkind, just they knew right away where he stood and it wasn't with them. wjh

The way he chose to dress, his good looks and how clean and neat he always tried to be was a big draw for those guys... some stupid journalists (probably ugly as every thing themselves) tried then and even today, to say he was a 'flamming fag' because no man would dress like that if he weren't... Elvis didn't have to prove his msculinity...it was right out there surrounding him like a cloud-he radiated it and he could have worn anything and still looked masculine-he pretty much proved that true! He didn't want to wear pink tights though-but he did because that's what he was supposed to wear for the scene on the trapeze. He wore a white bathing suit under them he said...wasn't no way he was going to wear them without something else on as the tights had a "panty liner" but he wouldn't go for just that! He said "Hell, get stared at enough as it is-not gonna have that goin' on up there!" Then he kinda had second thoughts and said, "Hummmm 24 foot screen... nawww...not worth it." and laughed. Humor in everything. wjh

I JUST WELL NEVER UNDERSTAND THOSE WOMEN THAT ACTED WILD, AND STUPIED. I WOULD HAVE MUCH RATHER BEEN LADY LIKE, IF ELVIS EVER CAME UP TO ME ON STAGE. BECAUSE I KNOW ELVIS WOULD HAVE NOTICED ME MORE, AND I WOULD HAVE WANTED MY MOMENT WITH HIM AS SOMETHING TO CHERISH AND REMEMBER FOR EVER! FAIRYTALE!

She practically did! And Elvis was so gentle with her, letting her touch him, not getting upset that she nearly dunked him on the table in the drinks! And when he realized she was "losing it" he stayed back from her and tried not to even look at her to calm her down some.
It hardly worked! He knew what he had done and kind of regretted it some I think. He seemed kind of that way to me...he was not gloating or making fun of her with the band in no way at all. And I've seen him do that a time or two-but not in a vile way ever. Just in fun. wjh

It should be scaring for Elvis, to produce this kind of uncontrollable wild emotions in people.
Fortunately, he didn't use mainly his sexuality to produce a response at a low level in his fans, but rather tried to touch their hearts at the higher level of Love. But, of course, everything in him was vibrating at unison. He channeled so much energy, that he could not control what that energy set on motion, depending on what chakra (or energy's center) in any of his fans it found resonances.
My understanding of this is that the each one in his presence, reacted to the level of being they had more active in that moment. Some expressed in their face having some kind of mystical experience...
