STAIRS TO HEAVEN

AS I ASCEND THESE STAIRS EACH DAY,
I SOMETIMES STUMBLE, SOMETIMES SWAY

HALF WAY UP THESE STAIRS I SEE,
ANOTHER DOOR THAT SETS ME FREE

I SENSE THE BREEZE OF CRISP FRESH AIR,
THAT DRAWS ME EVER SO MUCH NEAR

THE HEAVEN ABOVE NO SIGHT TO COMPARE,
THAT IS WHAT AWAITS ME WHEN I GET THERE

FOR NOW I STAND ON MIDDLE GROUND,
THE DOOR BESIDE ME OPEN NOW

IT IS THE PLACE THAT MUST BE ENTERED,
FOR WORK, FOR DREAMS, FOR THINGS IN LIFE REMEMBERED

THE DAY WILL COME WHEN PAST THIS DOOR,
I CLIMB THE STAIRS TO HEAVENS FLOOR

THE DOOR ONCE REACHED, I WILL CROSS AND ENTER,
AND LIFE AND ITS BLESSINGS ALWAYS REMEMBER
