Hello Lighthouse, I think your art work is great! You have captured that nose, those eyes, the hair, just the whole darn thing pretty good! I like especially the one you did-from Kid Galahad where he is looking at gig young and charles bronson when bronson's hands have been "smashed" by the mob so he can't tape and do Elvis' as the boxer, Galahad. Right? I think so. I like that pose, that look Elvis has on his face, and you got it!
Thank you for sharing your work with us. Wanda June

Wanda Thank you very very much ..those kind words of yours mean so much to me..Yes when I saw that expression for the first time in the movie it brought tears to my eyes, I thought this is one of the moments that the real beauty in his spirit shines through his perfect face,I remember one scene like this in his western film Charro as well..maybe you can remember that one too..well Wanda I thank you for sharing all those prescious memories of him with us..here's some more art of mine..Image

Hi, the hands! Wow, he would love that so much. Hands are difficult and you got them, even to the veins, the strength he had then and his jewelry! Is that charcoal you are using? I tried that once, smeared it too much gave it up! And I like the way you have the top one, younger, most people don't notice his small bone structure-he had the illusion of being big boned, but he wasn't, that's why the camera liked him so much. He was delicate but masculine. His chin wasn't big from the side, he hadn't grown fully until he was in his mid 20s then he began to mature...slow at it. Even he said something like that once, having been 'jus' a baby' until he hit 25-27 he said. I told him, yeah, your like a fine, true blooded animal-takes time to grow a good one. He laughed and laughed over that-saying, now i'm a dawg!
but i got good blood lines! But it was true, that's why he stayed so limber and youthful looking for so long. if he hadn't been ill, he'd still be here and look good-like in his 50's or something at 70 +. But he wasn't made to stay forever- thank you so much for sharing your talented gifts. Wanda I think you mean when the sheriff's wife is beating on his chest or when he makes the sheriff take some whiskey so the "doc" can "get to diggin'?" Both times the look is there. In that movie, Elvis directed or suggested is the way he put it, the scene between him and Ina Baldwin with the hat hitting the floor, the bed between them in the next scene. Elvis said that scene was as intimate and sexy as any "rollin' 'round would be because the human brain can picture anything it wants, according to each individual watching, to suit each one's sexual fantasy and a few clips of film can't do that-" He was proud of those scenes-also the one where she gets out of the tub, has the see through robe on her "wet, soapy body" but there is the double layers down the front that "hides some things" his words. And the dialog is also set up to get people's minds to thinking and wondering what he's looking for-with the bed right there too. He was proud of that film, until the Col. had it chopped to pieces and respliced to be so obvious and stupid. Elvis wouldn't even talk about it before it was done because he knew what they were doing. He was excited at the start, then lost all interest. Just another presley flick-in the end. I liked it-even though I knew it wasn't what he talked about when I saw it. Col. t. was afraid he'd have a winner and wouldn't be so easy to handle then. Wanda June You still can't buy that video or cd of that movie-National General owns it-he said he owned some of it and it's never been released??? I have it from taping it off tv. But have never found it for sale.??

Hi Wanda,
how nice of you to share all those with me ..Those memories are so prescious to me even more because they come from someone really knew him then.Well I use charcoal sometimes but mostly a b9 pencil is works good for me.Yes the scene in Charro was the one he's giving Sheriff
something to drink and looking down at him ..I can feel for him how it was painful working with those narrow minded people.God! they didn't know what to do with him cause he was too much for his time and for the shallow spirited people around him. They didn't let him to use his great talents. He was a gift but the majority didn't notice it until they lost forever. Wish I was able to see the film as it really was..I can't stand thinking that he died with a broken heart because of those blinded people around him .I miss him as I knew him personally, love him as he was from my own blood ..who else can make total strangers feel like this.. he was a source of love and light ,a gift from God..but look what they did to him.. :( Thank you again Wanda..

hello lighthouseseeker,

Your work is fantastic, very beautiful.
Me also, I always felt I knew him. When he died a few people around me who I loved very much, also passed away. Like a boy of 19 years old who I loved truly and had the looks of him.

Elvis was always searching, for love, for the meaning of life, God.
Although he had a rough time never forget he also had a life full of love given by his family, his fans, who loved him very much.
And forgive me but he also had to learn like we all do.
Sometimes people around you are reflecting things inside you on which you have to work on. I hope I explain it right.
He was a very good, very spiritual man of flesh and blood but not a saint.
He who is my brother, my spiritual teacher, my guide....

Loving thoughts,
Kira

Thank you Kiranikki.. :D also thanks for sharing your thoughts..but I never thought of him as a saint, that's why I can feel that close to him and respect him, I he could reach millions of people easier than a St.could..it is more important to be such a nice person as a normal human being..this is even harder..Elvis gave hope to ordinary people, the hope of reaching higher levels of our spirits if we try...God bless him..

Hi lighthouseseeker, From Sue/White Swan

Wow, what amazing Elvis drawings! You truly have a skill and talent for drawing our lovely man; the love you have for Elvis, and the fact that he touched your life (hey, join the club)!!!!! :)

He's a very special man who is a part of all our lives but very human all the same. I also agree 200% that:

it is more important to be such a nice person as a normal human being..this is even harder..
Seeks to encourage and inspire!
