What A Picture that is RainBowLight, if anyone needs a Guide into how Have Faith and how to Stand on the Promise's that Lord would do for us if we only Loved and Asked Him. To read his Word and to Love Thy Neighbor, To Give to the Poor! and to be there for your Brother to Lean on! Then Elvis' Life is a Very Good Example if People would just truly Find the Right Books like our Wanda and a few More that have Written True and Good Things about Elvis' Life!

I would be one of those people who were skeptical and tended to think of Elvis as being superficial and a "Hollywood type" with little real character as a result of his "life style" etc:... had I not met him. It was like night and day to know what was behind all that hype and drama of his career image. He always tended to be a total opposite of what people expected once they met and talked with him. It is a shame that he was as a human being, kept from being known and only the image was presented so much...by his management and the business end of things. The first time I saw him walk on stage in Vegas I was blown away totally and awed by the man on stage being the guy I knew - it was surreal. It was hard for me to believe they were one and the same and I was right there seeing him. It was the power, the dynamic quality of his presence up there, he was bigger than life, he was stunning to look at and he was kind of "unreal" in being that way. And when he sang, well, it was stronger. He certainly had presence... and the more we saw him, the more I went to his shows, it just didn't ever diminish- I don't know how he did it. In fact I kind of felt like the lady who asked him how he managed to stay so humble and level headed when he was such a tremendous power house of a man on stage. He had this sort of blank look on his face and then he said, "Ahh, I dun no, I jus' sing an' it's the music-really. I got a great group up there helping me keep things goin'. That's all...thank you very much, dear" and he kissed her quickly and turned to another person. I was awed again by how easily he handled those who expressed such shock and awe about him. That was during his first engagement in Vegas...and he never changed all through those years... "jus' sing, that's all...thanks for thinking we're doin' it right..." He still is... wjh

You know Wanda and RainBowLight, I Truly Feel that Even Though Elvis had his Feeling 's Hurt and his Heart Broke. I think the One Thing that Hurt his Feeling's The Most had Broke His Heart is the One Weight he Carried that he couldn't Handle, of Being Made into the Recluse he was made him into. Elvis Loved People and if he would have been Allowed to be Around People More, to be the Human Being Elvis More, then I think Elvis would have Felt a Whole Lot Different.

I agree with all everyone has said. Many times he lamented not being able to "jus' take a walk down the street 'n be-" (he would always seem to pause or kind of stammer a little in saying the rest) eh...normal." He often asked what being normal really meant... he said who is normal really? And would go into a long discourse about what the word meant in many ways... and he'd end up saying he didn't know what being normal was in his case. And he'd sometimes make a joke about it aimed at himself usually. I know he missed being "free" to just come and go without being concerned about causing a crowd or someone wanting to "take a punch at me" and he'd laugh. His early days of being mobbed made a big impression on him that didn't go away. It was hard to put the Elvis one saw reaching out to people, talking with them, hugging etc: with the one who didn't want strangers grabbing at him, who said once, "all that touchin' and feelin' gives me the willies" sometimes..." and he snickered and joked about those many hands, fingers and mouths coming at him. He did get out more than we know about, he'd sneak off with a girl friend, or just by himself and do something like take a drive. He even got a kick out of getting away from his "guards" at times and laughed about them trying to find him etc:. So he had fun, he had some disgruntling times, but he said he'd "do it all again". That says quite a mouth full- "really..." wjh
