Elvis gave the ring to David Stanley when he got married and David put it up for auction last year and Pris bought it.

I had not heard that Priscilla bought the ring. Is there an article which mentions this? So far, I haven't had any luck in finding anything but maybe just need to dig deeper.

I am so glad that Priscilla bought the ring-he wore it so much, even after the divorce he'd wear it for comfort and to "remind me of better days, 'n hope for a future."

As far as I know, he had the ring until early in 77 and he gave David's wife the ring because they were having some marital troubles-so they got married in early 77 I think. It is told that Elvis called them in and talked to them about his own marriage, how miserable he had been without his family, his little girl and begged them to try to stay together, to work things out and think carefully as it was painful to break up etc;...he spent some time talking to them, and then to her and he gave her his wedding ring as a memento of their talk and of his hopes for them. He must have blessed the ring with the hope it would help them have real love between them. I don't know that he prayed with them , but there were mixed stories that he did ask them to pray with him and he prayed over them. David I do not know, if he tells of that or the talk but others who knew about it did mention this a while back. I know she had the ring-or at least David did because Elvis said he gave it to him =he didn't tell me that but he did other people who said it to me. That Elvis said he had to do something to help them stay together because they loved each other and they were ruining it. That's all I know. He wore that ring last at the end of December when he was visiting Pris and taking Lisa on tour with him. He wore the ring for Lisa's sake, she knew it was his wedding ring and it meant that he and her mom loved each other because he had told her that time and again. So I know that is why he had it on-his little girl was with him and he wore it for her comfort and assurance of his love for her momma. He would have walked barefoot through the desert through cactus in the dark to please his little girl. wjh

This is most touching to read and I can believe Elvis would have done whatever he could have to please his little girl including, as you say, walking barefoot through the desert through cactus in the dark - yes, I can well believe it! Razz Smile
