In the book "Elvis by the Presleys" Sri Daya Mata, head of the Self-Realization-Fellowship, is quoted talking (to Priscilla) about Elvis a short time after his passing:

"...Why couldn't we have changed his fate so as to keep him alive? Well, the simple truth is that Elvis's spirit was powerful. It remains powerful. He was able to express that spirit throughout his life in ways that reached millions. That is a cause for joy.

The choices he made are the choices he made. But the choices we can now make is to gently move through our pain and confusion and CELEBRATE HIS SPIRIT. IN A VERY REAL SENSE, HE STILL LIVES. HE ALWAYS WILL."

I missed this post before. But now that I have read it Sarena, I thank you very much for bringing it to us.

Sri Daya Mata signalled so simply, clear and lovingly what to my belief is the basic truth about Elvis and the better way to approach his presence between us.

We are celebrating him every day here at the ELC Forum, in wonder and joy! And with him, we are celebrating our own souls too and their journeys through Life. Smile

I read this book over and over again!!

I read that Priscilla gave Elvis this book after their divorce....would have been nice if they could have shared it in their married years....
