It is beautifully amazing to see how much good is done in Elvis' name for such precious kind of people.

Thank you Sue, for sharing.

Jenny seems like a great Elvis fan and humanitarian, for her to care for the less fortunate and for it to be done in Elvis' name.
Sue, it also must have been a good feeling for you to play a part.

In the Monday edition of the newspaper 'Het Laatste Nieuws' in Belgium, the story of the 17 year old Michiel Stroobans was published.

Elvis fan Michiel was born half paralyzed and has a eye disease. The nerves in his eye does not get enough blood and oxygen and will stop functioning at some point. It's not possible to threat or heal this problem. In a while, Michiel will be completely blind. It's the dream of Michiel to see Graceland before he's not able to do it anymore. After reading this touching article, ElvisMatters contacted the Stroobans family with the news that Michiel and his dad can join the club trip in august without any cost.

The Belgian ElvisMatters is happy that they can go on with the tradition of Elvis who donated a lot for the good cause. Source: Elvis Matters

What a beautiful story this was, it is so great that the Fan Clubs can continue to raise money for charities and causes but also to show love, caring, compassion in every way and this is just one example, thank you so much for sharing this with us, Blue Moon! :)

One of the charities Jenny supports is for a hospice near Oxford, UK. There are actually two hospices that work and support each other but it is run by a lady, Sister Mary, who is a true beautiful spirit and earlier this year there was an 8 part TV series about the work of these hospices. I was glad to play a part before; after watching all they do in providing children and young adults also with terminal illness and their parents with places where they can be safe and taken care of. A special room where parents can be alone with their child at the time of the child's passing and spiritual support at any time of the day!

Very moving and touching, stirs the heart and soul for sure!

Friends of Chernobyl’s Children
Friends of Chernobyl’s Children is a Manx registered charity which aims to relieve the suffering of children from Belarus affected by the radiation explosion from the nuclear plant at Chernobyl in April 1986. FOCC is raising funds to provide travel, clothing and footwear for children from Belarus to continue to visit the Island to bolster their immune systems. Since 1999 around 20 Belarusian children from the city of Mogilev visit the Island every year for a month to gain respite from the ongoing debilitating effects of the radiation cloud which drifted in from Ukraine more than twenty years ago. Many Manx families have opened their homes in a spirit of companionship and goodwill to forge strong international bonds of friendship and humanity through the work of the charity.

Diabetes Foundation - Elvis Rock n'Roll Ride for Life

Postby Rainbow Light » Tue Aug 07, 2007 9:47 am

Rock 'n' Roll Ride For American Diabetes Association

Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. is pleased to announce the new Elvis Rock 'n' Roll Ride for Life benefiting the American Diabetes Association, which will begin and end at Elvis Presley's Graceland, the legendary superstar's home in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 22, 2007. This event for motorcycle enthusiasts will serve as a fitting homage to Presley's passion for motorcycles and to his lifetime of generosity to individuals and charitable causes. Festivities at Graceland will include the unveiling of the limited edition Elvis 30th Anniversary Signature Collection Harley-Davidson® motorcycle produced by Graceland® Harley-Davidson, a branch location of Bruce Rossmeyer's Southern Thunder Harley-Davidson.

By offering three levels of participation ranging from $50.00 - $300.00, riders and their passengers can choose from a variety of experiences for the 100-mile escorted ride and the weekend's events. Activities can include a VIP event and pre-ride party at the Gibson Guitar Beale Street Showcase, ride staging at the steps of Graceland Mansion, tours of the Gibson Guitar Factory and Graceland Mansion, a post-ride party with food, beverages, and live music on the Graceland visitor centre property, special commemorative gifts, and much, much more. A special highlight will be the unveiling of the limited edition Elvis Presley 30th Anniversary Signature Collection Harley-Davidson® motorcycle, painting and sculpture, which have been created in tribute to Elvis in this, the thirtieth anniversary year of his passing.

The Elvis Rock 'n' Roll Ride for Life benefiting the American Diabetes Association will depart the Graceland properties at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2007, with the highest level of participants officially kicking off the ride from the front steps of Graceland Mansion.

Interested individuals can get detailed information and sign up for the ride by going to www.elvis.com/ride or by calling 1-901-682-8232 or 1-888-DIABETES, extension 3121.
