We had so many good times, y'know. We had some hard times too, but we worked hard and he worked hard. He was really a nice man; he didn't push nobody around .... he'd kid with you, y'know, raise hell maybe, but after he'd do somethin' you'd see his face change. It hurt his feelings to hurt you - that's the kind of guy he was.

When I lived in San Antonio, Texas many (many) years ago, I knew J.D. Fontana's aunt. Her last name was "Fontana" and I seem to remember that her first name was Victoria...but can't recall for sure. She owned a resturant on the famous Riverwalk there. She also came to certain Elvis fan club gathering events. She was sa delightful person, and very much a "tell it like it is" lady. She had met Elvis in his younger days, and loved him of course.

Yes, she does sound a lovely lady for sure!

Had met him and also Scotty Moore in '93 at an Elvis Week, they were there as guests for the week and both are really nice people. Quite different in that D J talks the hind legs off a mule if given the chance whereas Scotty is quite quiet and private but it's great to hear them both talk of their days with Elvis!
