thanks for words of encouragement , i like to help albeit in a small way, hope you enjoy , by the way wedding tv was a washout and went and showed part one of marrying elvis again so i gave up on it reluctantly, and my dad dont seem to understand my like or should i say love for elvis, and often grumbles when i want to record downstairs , ergo i often dont ask :( , he is a bit grumbley sometimes , but he mostly lets me watch new things downstairs to record em, but just occasionally he gets tetchy about stuff.

dads whod have em eh lol

is ok sue

Postby juliepresleyfan » Wed Apr 16, 2008 3:43 am

thanks sue, will send it to you tomorrow, have just gone through a bit of a scare with paypal , someone got into my account and tried to buy a pool table in america, but the paypal have lept into action and , it was taken out of my account this morning, and is being put back as soon as , apparently it has to come out, ive been refunded by the seller, and it will go back in next few days, ive been in floods of tears and really upset, and scared witless.

aparently someone got into my account and said i was his sister , all my passwords have been changed ,
cant really say too much about it , but ive told you the gist

but i was scared as hell , luckily my loan came out about 4 or 5 days before, so if god is kind , and all goes as planned it might be ok by the time the next one is taken.

please god take pity on me, how people can be so cruel i really dont know, im not exactly thinking happy thoughts about them i can tell you

Well, we got ripped off when Jimmie used his bank card at a smaller/privately owned gas station...when the card was processed, the information from it went to another state where it was "stolen" and then sent to another state where our bank account was then billed for 300.00 the first month and 300.00 the second month and then I realized this is not right! It took over 6 months for them to track it to the last state where it went overseas from there and I guess they still are "looking". However after about 17 weeks, they figured out that it was not Jimmie who used the card in Colorado where it showed the first gasoline purchase of 34.00 which then was used a few days later to get the first 300.00 out. It took almost 47 months to get the cash back into our account though, that long to prove it was not Jimmie who did the 300.00 ones.... He's never even been to colorado! Anyway, they picked 300 figure because I normally paid two 300.00 amts to two accounts so it would look normal for me to pay that amt. I guess???? Anyway, I never pay the same amt on any credit card several times in a row. I randomaly pay various amts to all the bills like that we have and so it won't look "normal" if it happens again. The bank also has a flag on our acct. to alert us should something happen that looks odd again. We never go out of state anymore, so that should never happen again. in that way.
It's terrible how people can get into anything and steal and charge things.
We even had a hospital bill charged to us-and that took several weeks to prove we weren't in that hospital! What became pretty obvious was when it was for the birth of a baby girl- and the "womans" name was Jimmie!
He would have had a hard time with that one! I told the investigator that he wasn't able to give birth-and it took a little time for that to soak in-then the guy "got it" and said, You mean Jimmie is a man?" I said, yeah, I've known him for nearly 48 years-he hasn't had a sex change yet. He laughed-then said, well it's pretty obvious that this can't be you folks-how old are you? I said 68 in a few months and he said, "Well, you don't have a baby girl in the house do you? I said, "I hope to heck I never do!" and he laughed. So that cleared up fast. It was someone using a stolen fake ID and it was Jimmie's SS number that was stolen... So that's been fixed.
I'm so glad we don't have a lot of money or things...good grief! If it's this much trouble for what we do have, what would that be like!
Anyway, I never use anything on line that leads to my bank account or a credit card that is worth more than 500.00 so it won't be a big gain for anyone. I will not pay bills on line either-or order things unless using a card with a low limit amt. It just is too risky these days. When they can buy all the information about you they need for just 9.95 cents! Scary.

update on my frightening experience

Postby juliepresleyfan » Fri Apr 18, 2008 1:43 am

dont worry fairytale it might not happen to you, but i will say , if you buy from ebay, and youve got youre paypal account linked to a card, dont click on automatic payments, like i did .
stupid me thought it would make things easier and it did for a while, when i was paid for things it went straight in my account, and things were ok .
but allso the fraud man in usa went through too automatically, so now ive clicked to go back to manually putting things through, i can check every one and even accept it or deny it.

it did actually come out of my account , £315.07p , only thing was i only had £52.74p, which has now put me at just under £300 in deficit, and im being charged daily till it goes back in, which my case was proved as fraud.
and is being sorted out now, hopeully but its going to take a week to put back, luckily the seller of said pool table was honest and put a dispute on it straight away.
shes refunded me, but its going to take a week to put back in my poor bank account , which is seriously overdrawn, if elvis looked down on me this week all hed see is a river of hot salty tears poor soul

thats a sad tale wanda

Postby juliepresleyfan » Sat Apr 19, 2008 3:42 am

whoo is that ever bad , poor wanda glad its been sorted now, you must have been beside yourself with grief oh god .
makes mine look like small fry dont it.
it makes me sad to think lots of things in this world cant be safe, lind of makes you want to stay in doors and do nothing dont it.
im fighting hard not to feel a bit jaded and scared these days its not a good feeling is it.

but really fairytale i think youl be ok if you leave the maunal bit on your paypal and dont be tempted to click to automatic pay of things , then you can accept or deny each one yourself individually hope you know what i mean .
luv to all julie

ps at least im not drowning in tears for last few days , kept bursting into floods for a few days was terrible , now my eyes are really sore

Yeah, know that feeling! I think it would be so much worse if we couldn't get the problems solved! It cost us quite a bit in overdraft fees and 4 checks bounced so I had to make that up too so we were in a hole for a while there! I was beside myself over it too! And am really careful now that's for sure. Jimmie doesn't ever buy gas at odd little stations either-and uses cash mostly. We have changed our card use-to cash when ever possible. And paper checks but even they can be "washed" and rewritten to be more! There is a special ink pen one can buy where that can't happen to checks. So far I haven't got one as I don't write checks except to pay some bills-if possible I do it personally with cash. And always keep a receipt... even they can get information off receipts if they know what to look for! It's scary all right- and now they are going to put tiny chips in our money so they can tell what people spend it on! Good grief!
