2 days ago I was talking with a sweet friend and during the conversation Elvis and his daddy weeping together when Gladys died popped quickly into my brain and I told my friend that in 1958, in America, it was seen as "not man-like" to show emotions in public.
When I think of that famous visual it reminds me of how generous Elvis was to buy Graceland for his mom and his daddy, and how he felt no shame at expressing what he felt when his Gladys went to be with the One above. To me that is a truer measure of a man than how "man-like" he appears.
What a gift we were lent to teach to us so many things and then he was called home.
I thank the One above for sending Elvis here in my lifetime. So many have attempted to emulate Elvis and no one, in my opinion, has even gotten close. A wonder of a man who expressed how he felt whether it was awe at reaching so many highs during his brief time here or by being generous and filled with sincere thanks at the smallest of kindness given to him.
Always with love,

Yes, you got it right, Barbara Lea.
Please, let me add that inside each of us there is the WHOLE POTENTIAL to be a higher expression of a human Being -as Elvis did- if we only let it pour out freely, without distortion or squeezing produced by our identification with the smaller part of us: our vehicle-personality, in which we focus mostly our mind and emotions. We tend to believe that what is possible in others, is not so for ourselves, which is totally wrong.
Let's be DREAMERS, like Elvis was. Let's dream of dropping all the barriers that are refraining us from express our REAL CONDITION, each one UNIQUE in the manifestation of CREATION. _________________ Amanda Viola

He was one of a kind- that is a certain fact! I will always remember how sweet he was when I gave him a little book of poems that had a ribbon page marker built in, I had found a little gold charm at the swap meet I think it was, earlier and I sewed it to the ribbon. I didn't know him all that well then, though I had been by his house and he had given me a couple of books so I knew he loved them. He was so cute, holding his hands out like a kid getting a special gift, the way he held the book, opened it up, such a cute smile, anticipation on his face, he looked at the page and I think read a line or so to himself, then saw the ribbon with his name on the charm, looked up at me in surprised delight as if I'd found it made that way I think, and he liked it. And the guy spoke softly, sometimes it was hard to catch every word and one tended to lean in to hear him or he'd get close to one's ear to say whatever- I think it was because his hearing was acute and so he tried to speak soft because maybe he h eard voices a bit loud and maybe harsh? What ever, he took the book, looked at it and that soft warm toned voice sounded like he was awed that I got him a gift, went out and picked something just for him. He always seemed to do that- make people feel so special, so needed and he was so grateful someone thought of him.... It was natural I think, just the way he was, how he thought and felt. Whatever, one of a kind is true- and probably not ever to be again one like him... close maybe, but not exact copy. I really miss him this month- July 4th is coming up and he made it so special that last year... I think I've posted about that book before, and I guess since I have remembered again, I might put it in Face to Face as I don't think it was mentioned in the other one either...oh my, I may never get it all in this book! But it was so him... I have to. wjh _________________ Wanda June Hill
