Bowl of Light

Postby Rainbow Light » Sat Jul 12, 2008 12:06 pm

I read the following in a spiritual magazine recently, it doesn't give an author but like the words and wanted to share with the ELC angels! Here goes:-

Bowl of Light

Each child has at birth a bowl of perfect light.
If he tends to his light it will grow in strength and
he can do all things, swim with sharks, fly with birds,
know and understand all things.

If, however, he becomes envious, jealous, angry
or fearful he drops a stone into his bowl of light
and some of the light goes out.
Light and Stone cannot hold the same space.

If he continues to put stones in the bowl the light
will go out and he will become a stone himself.
A stone does not grow nor does he move.

If at any time he tires of being a stone,
all he needs to do is turn the bowl upside down
and the stones will fall away
and the light will grow once more.

Beautiful Sue, and I doubt that Elvis' Bowl had any Stones in it. [/b]

What I like most of that writing, is the fact that it reminds us THE CHOICES ARE OURS! :)

:D :D THANK YOU SO MUCH, Sweet Sue for these beautifull touching words... and they are sooo true :D :D They touch my heart and soul very deeply :D :P

AMEN, dear Amanda :D :D CHOICES ARE OURS :D :D Thank YOU :D :P

I wanted to share these beautifull words about choices...

God said:

If I gave you a choice, where would you be? If I gave you a choice, what would you be doing? If I gave you a choice, what would you be giving? And what would you be accepting?

Perhaps you are exactly where you want to be. And why not? Yet along the way, decisions and choices will continue to be yours to make.

Beloveds, I do give you choices. I do not hamstring you. I give you all the freedom in the world. Know yourself to be free to choose. Do not think otherwise. You don't want to stalemate yourself. Your hands are not tied.

Even if you are in prison, you have choices to make within the bars.

Remember that deciding and choosing are not exactly the same. We can say that a decision is a choice you have made. This is true to a point. A decision is made, and that may be enough. Sometimes it is. Before your very eyes, a decision you have made manifests itself.

And yet a decision is not always quite the same as making a choice. A decision may be made for years and years, and yet a choice to live up to the decision has yet to be made. There can be years and miles between a decision and the choice to act on it. Sometimes it takes courage to make a choice. Often it does.

This is not to say that you have to follow through on every decision you make. Decisions can be undecided. They can be reversed. That's fair. The only thing is you don't want to kid yourself that you are going to find new work, for instance, when you find many reasons not to. You don't have to, you understand. You may be right to move somewhere else or not to move at all. In any case, you do have to be honest with yourself. Do not dilly-dally.

In life, there are decisions made for you whether you like them or not. And there are decisions that rely on you to be made.

When you have choices, choose. No one says your choices have to be perfect, beloveds, and yet choices are to be made.

Give yourself the leeway to make mistakes. What would have been invented without error in the process? Why, you can consider every error a great gain. You have something under your belt now. You have something to check off. You tried something. Regardless of the outcome, you won.

When you go to a restaurant, it is necessary to order. And when the waiter brings you the food, it is necessary for you to eat. Ordering is ordering. Eating is eating. Your contract with the restaurant isn't complete until you have eaten.

And so you move in life as best you can. And you don't mind if a choice is imperfect. You don't mind if you erase a choice here and there.

Life is about finding out. And how do you find out unless you dare to make choices and see where they lead? Beloveds, no one knows ahead of time. Even sure paths are not always sure.

What you can know for certain is that, in life, choices exist, and you have to make them. They don't have to be irrevocable, and yet there are choices, once taken, you cannot retract. The choice no longer exists. Those you count up as life experience. Count the choice as right, and be glad. Consider every choice you make the right choice, even when it doesn't look like it. The good thing is you made a choice. Bless yourself.

not certain

Postby 73smile » Fri Jul 18, 2008 10:56 am

I read through this page and then back through it again more slowly.
I am not certain if the 2 postings are more touching or if the illustrations/images have 'caught' my heart as much or more OR if it is the combination that evokes the feelings I am experiencing as I think of what I have read and have looked at here.
Words can be read and then stay within our ability to actually think about the meaning behind the letters that when strung together do create a word---(another choice-----which letter to use for which form of a word to use??) which then, when added to other words, can/may make a statement, ask a question, provoke deeper thought, connect our hearts to the words and to the images stamping joy and beauty and awe therein--------or each of us as an individual can CHOOSE to throw light/thought/responsibility for choices/accepting of choices made for us and the beauty and harmonious joy ALL away and stay off the path to our spiritual destiny.
Coming to Lighted Candle and clicking upon these posts and images that will stay with me as I go about my day do, reinforce for me, the knowledge that the One above and a friend really are directing the abilities I have and those I choose to use and those I choose to leave to gather dust because they block the light given off by the candle in the darkness that beckons us, as Elvis sang about, to a world that is better if "we can dream."
We can dream. I can dream. That is my choice and I thank my family here for never failing to have/add just the right words in a post that allow me to know for sure the direction I am headed toward is, with no doubt, the right one. The only one. :)
always with love,

THANK YOU Ka'rala! A great text and a good reminder for the times (that often come) when we may feel like "Life happens to us", totally contrary from my believe that -due we are ONE with Life- we make Life happen.

Your link to the Elvis' YouTube video, brought me to some of his songs that, simply, touched my heart.

MARJORIE, your comment is very touching too.

Very many thanks to all of Elvis/Elvis' Blue Rose Angels for all your feedback to my post! Your comments, feelings, thoughts and thanks are most appreciated! :D :D

Yes, we do all have the CHOICES as Amanda says, this is a wonderful realisation and revelation! Also, as Ka'rala mentions,

Beloveds, I do give you choices. I do not hamstring you. I give you all the freedom in the world. Know yourself to be free to choose. Do not think otherwise. You don't want to stalemate yourself. Your hands are not tied.

Exactly! It is the very fact that the One Above, our true Father loves us so much, gives us FREEWILL whether we will turn to Him, love and serve Him and every single one of your comments above truly is special to know what you as dear friends and Blue Rose Angels think and feel!

Thank you all! :D :P

Love & Light always!, Sue

Boy What Words to Live by and Remember, Thank You Ka'rala. I sure have made some Bad Choices in my Life, and I couldn't help but think if Elvis hadn't took the Chance to become the Entertanier that he did. We might have never knew His Love, and we might had never been here as the Family we are now at ELC.
