We waited until the mail had gone on Thursday, which was my birthday, to leave for the weekend with the boys.
A sweet friend I have lives in Kentucky. She and her husband drove all the way up to Michigan for the auction we had. She is a person I met about 5 years ago online.
Walter brought in the mail and there was a package from my friend. In it was a t-shirt with RC Cola on it----a couple of years ago we were emailing and I mentioned that my mom drank only RC Cola if she had pop and my friend remembered that. She also sent a Norman Rockwell book and a quote in it fits so well in my work to stay on the spiritual path:

This is the beauty of wanting to be in a better place and the only way to get to that place is by handing all of life's struggles over to the One above and along the way the friendships on ELC are the 'rays of good hope' that help me to keep getting back up when I stumble and caring enough so that my heart does not falter...........
All of you here are my family and family means friendship that does not question but instead it helps me by allowing me to look at a situation in a different way and with a fresh perspective. I hope that each of you here know how very much your unconditional love and support has helped me to get this far and I know we will all be together with Elvis, our loved ones gone ahead, and in the arms of the all forgiving One above when it is our time.
I will forever be happy that a different friend told me about ELC after she had been "directed" here. When we arrived home there was a birthday card from her with some pictures of Elvis inside the card. I thank her VERY much for those as just looking at them makes me smile.

I believe that it is through sharing examples of both the ups and the downs that we experience motivates us to WANT to stay on the spiritual path. ELC is a place of wonder and of joy for me. The family here does not judge but instead it helps us to weather the storms and to celebrate the positives in our lives.
