i've been reading all points here with lots of intrest.

My english is not the best of all members here. Good enough to read and good enough to react but not good enough to write elaborate toughts and text.

I believe Wanda, I truly do and i have very good reasons to believe her. I met some people of his entourage many years ago, before I even met Wanda here on the forum.....

So much has never been written about him in books, so much is known among the people who knew him that never has been in books but that can only be known if you talk to lots of people.

I heard stories i was asked to keep in my hearth and memory but to keep it for myself, stories told in complete trust. Years later Wanda told me sometimes exact same stories with same little details that were told years ago to me by people i just know that they were 100 percent genuine since they knew him personnally or knew people who worked for him.....

There is that story of Pris and Elvis on vacation to Hawaii. Well they did go to Hawaii or Bahammas before the baby. Not a very important given but they did go , I heard it from very different people and some were indeed AMAZED that Pris didn't seem to recall it herself in her book

Elvis and Me is not at all an accurate book and if we begin to talk about facts and plain truth , please don't even mention Elvis and Me, sorry......

It does not amaze me that a simple fact, (their holiday to Hawaii before Lisa's birth) is so often ignored or looked over in books because that is what it was. A simple short holiday of two newly wed people.....

So plain and simple that perhaps lots didn't even care to mention the trip but that doesn't mean it didn't exist.....

I have two books where it is stated that they went indeed on a holiday before the baby. One of them is the recent book of Sonny West but I knew that given alreaddy in 1997 , told by my tourguide in Memphis who was fortunate enough to be befriended with some guys of his entourage. Good friends they were, almost lifelong friendships.....

Years later Wanda did mention that trip to me too.

Priscilla her memory is very very vague at times and she so often changes her stories....

One can believe what you want but never ever take Pris her word for the bible either. Every fan knows how often she is wrong or how often her stories change. Pris never was good in dates either and Elvis and Me was written very very simple, almost like a book of a kid of 14 or 15. Not much details "at all" in her book that's for sure......

I feel sorry for Wanda that she now perhaps feels like she has to expalin so many things......

OMG.... I was just thinking of my personal life and my friends etc etc.....

There is no single friend i can remember one which date he or she enterred my life, not even the year we met.... Strange but true but on the other hand I still know so many many detailed conversations I happened to have with each of my friends. the good ones, the sad ones.... things we did and talked about too.....

But never ever details of dates "at all".

Wanda was just a lucky lady, who met him and those two liked each other and connected.

At that time, Elvis was Elvis, not the legend, not the man who's life was soon going to be studied in every possible detail.

She still remembers a lot, still has her conversations but come on Wanda is not a young lady anymore, has her own life......

31 years passed since he died..... It would be impossible to still know so many details you ladies ask here.....

She never knew at that time she knew him that there would be one day that she was going to be judges for her friendship.......

That she was going to be questionned and that she was going to need every little detail........

Thjat is NOT what true friendship is about ......

I'm no expert at all about my friends lifes either and no I don't even keep track of when they travel or which day I was seeing them or in which month we did something together...... Would be strange to do IMO

So Wanda keep doing what you are doing...... You are a great lady, I love you.

Dear Alna, I feel you made an important point here! It counts what LINGERES it our friendships, what is really being exchanged (values, insights, loving vibrations) and that's what we remember most, because these things are etched in our consciousness and memory. The date and day when it happened is often unimportant.
I thank you for your point of view and I can agree in many ways!

anytime ladies
God i hated it so how she was put down and be brought on trial......

Does who don't believe her, well that is their choice, then they don't belong here but coming here to stir troubles is so unfair. Enough forums of non believers.

They keep theirselves to books of people who never met him and take that for the bible. OMG if they only knew......

I have been fortunate enough to talk to one of his closest friends, if not the closest and so many many aspects of that man came trough....

Elvis , who he was, can not be captured in one book, not even in 100 books......

Those who want to know more of Elvis the man, are not intrested in dates, number of concerts, which countrie he was on which evening etc etc.....

Those who are intrested in Elvis the man, need to listen to people who knew him, were family, were friends (not always MM friends alone) who worked with him, worked for him, were the maids and gardeners at his residences etc etc....

Lot wrote books, lot choose to shut up and keep memories inside them out of fear to be ridiculised and questioned.

My tourguide was of Elvis his generation, grew up in Memphis and was befriended with lots of guys of his entourage. During our days together we spoke a lot about almost everything. I was particularly intrested in his years with Pris because for some reason Pris always had my attention . At that time I still admired her for her beauty and her class and her fairytale wedding to the man I respected and loved so dearly....

So a lot of our conversations were about Pris, little Lisa, the divorce, the strange actions of both after the divorce etc etc......

The trip of Elvis and her while awaiting the baby was mentionned. remember it like it was yesterday....

Years later i saw that beautiful conversation he had here while on holiday with her and it all fitted in so nicely......

In Memphis pieces of the puzzle were given to me, Wanda gave me thanks to many many private conversations with specific questions i still had missing pieces......

Every story I knew from private sources, she knew too and made it even more detailed......

If she would have been a liar, I would have known too.

I'm sure she knew him, gut feeling and common sense too.....

If she would not have known him well at least she would have very close by access to very good sources because every story she wrote here has proven to be right (in time)

Thank you ALNA! It is so sweet of you to post here, explaining that there are sources that show that Elvis did in fact take his Priscilla on a short honeymoon vacation! I only had his words about wanting to do that, because "she deserved it" and too, he wanted her to be happy, he was so happy sounding, content and excited they were expecting. And weeks later when we spoke and I asked if they had a good time, he just made the pickle coment and sounded so content and happy. However, I must be easily to question also- because I began to wonder, to doubt his words, maybe he didn't go? Maybe they got into a fight etc:...and he didn't want to discuss it- when in reality he was telling the truth- just as I thought at the time it occured. It's great to know that he was right- and I was wrong to question what I thought, said and he said. Geeze, he is "always right"- just like he said. In jest, of course.

Bless you ALNA for being a "researcher" and for being one our beloved ELC members!

Love,
wjh

I'm glad Alna has been able to research into this topic more and, thereby, be of further assistance and help to you, Wanda! :D :P

Elvis , who he was, can not be captured in one book, not even in 100 books......

While Wanda has done more than her fair share as respects WRE and Face to Face to come in this regard, I would have to say in such a big way, dear Alna, you couldn't have put it better! The Spirit and heart of Elvis, his core-being, cannot be 100% ever captured! A larger than life personality and very special man!! :D :P

no thank you is needed. i hated how she was put down here, how every single detail of her friendship was questionned to no end......

There are friends and writers.... She was a friend and friends don't keep track of their friends daily actions . They are just glad to hear from them once in a while, to be able to see them once in a while etc etc but noone keeps track, would be sick IMO....

I will today quote the exact phrase in Sonny's book, have to find the time to go to my bookshelf and find the exact page, but I will.

I liked Sonny's book and despite the past I still think Sonny really really was genuine in loving Elvis.

He isn't a bad guy; and with his recent book, he made justice.... He did what he wanted to do for so long ever since.....

Sonny you did right by doing so and I'm sure Elvis forgave you.

ok here it is

sonny's book page 216:

QUOTE

The newly weds boarded Frank Sinatra's jet and headed for Palm Springs.

After a few days they headed to the Bahamas , where it rained constantly and Elvis felt uncomfortable because of racial tensions he perceived.
Finally they ended up in Hawaii finishing their honeymoon....

END QUOTE

Pris was immediately pregnant, if not alreaddy pregnant before wedding (i leave that in the middle but some expalin the hush hush wedding by that given)

weeks must have passed between Bahammas and Hawaii. i don't think they went immediately from one place to another either because they were in May also in Memphis and spending time of Circle G too so my guess is they went somewhere in fall to hawaii.

Sonny didn't mention the exact timeframe just because like i said previously.... it was a simple descision made by those two and never accounted for much in any Elvis biographie.....

Elvis and Pris and later Elvis and Linda took so many short trips and not every trip has been scruntized in details at all....nor mentionned in books.

Happily for us here Sonny DID mention the trip situated after marriage and before birth so that is what we needed.

He was a friend too and no doubt didn't keep record either of all his friends actions.

Elvis was Elvis at the time, a friend, an employer for many a singer and actor, but not yet a legend.......

Different times it were, some people now can't even realise anymore how different.....

Forgive me but have to disagree here, whatever Sonny said in his book may have been an effort to 'put right wrongs' but it still comes to that when the coffers run dry who do the mm guys turn to for a way to make more money but to their good buddy, Elvis? Like he didn't do more than enough for them during his lifetime! :x :( :!:
