Im sure he was trying to keep the interest going and too, he was having fun, playing with her. He said on the tours when the women could reach him, and in Vegas some of them swabbed his tonsils with their toungues and he didn't really like that from "strangers" and his doctor was on him all the time for he would "catch" things from his fans-kissing too freely. And he
later on had fever blisters all the time, sores in his mouth and had a lowered immune system from his liver and etc: conditions going on. So he had to be a bit more selective of whom and how he kissed-he gave "baby kisses" like he gave his little daughter he would tell them sometimes...no more real smacker er roos that he used to toss out so freely. Unless they caught him off guard and then he'd stand there and let them kiss him until his guys got them off-he was very careful about touching the women hanging on him-he didnt want to be sued.
So he let his guys remove them..."like so much lint" he said one time. and laughed. He loved it, he wouldn't have been Elvis if he hadn't loved it. wjh
