Amazon programme - Bruce Parry

Postby Rainbow Light » Tue Oct 07, 2008 9:56 am

As I realise everyone right now; USA; UK; Europe et al are experiencing
problems relating to economy, jobs etc, I'm not for the moment posting charity links and information etc.

However, thought you might be interested in a programme/series I'm currently watching and am posting the site link up there is also a video clip of the first programme to view if you scroll down a little:

Best wishes,

Sue

Sure will do, ladies! It's a very interesting and great show to watch, am enjoying the series, just saw the video yesterday evening of the latest episode shown this Monday just gone! He's travelling down the Amazon river and staying with various tribes as he goes; he's respectful, a nice guy and is learning much about the river, nature etc! Very good! :) :P

He sure gets into some scrapes though, the latest being in a part of the river where they were checking for scientific research young and adult crocodiles - rather him than me but that was scary!

I would say he is definetly putting himself in Harms Way with those Crocs, they would rather eat you then be your Friend!

Agreed too, dear ladies those crocs were a little too scary! He's been checking the logging that's going on in the rainforest, jumping logs - this wasn't a part where the crocs were, thank goodness! Bruce has been involved with tribes' initiation rites too, not sure what they all prove but his main involvement and purpose for the series has been to investigate the destruction of the rainforest and try, with help from others, to find a way that's more eco-friendly to help the Amazon tribes to make a good livelihood and reasonable pay for what they do rather than get ripped off by the management of some companies but he's been balanced in his view and approach.

Thanks so much for the recent update on Bruces's adventures dear angel! :D Sounds like he's doing alot of good work too, even if it means playing with crocs once in a while! :D :P Thanks for posting the link for us too dear Sue. :) Unfortunately, when I clicked on it, a message came up that said, "sorry this video is only available in the UK", :( but I have no doubt after reading all of your wonderful updates that it has to have been very good and interesting to watch. :P :)

Do all of you remember Steve Irwin the Croc Hunter? He use to have a show on the tv called Animal Planet, he sure wasn't scared about dealing with Crocs.

Sure do remember Steve dear FairyTale, and think it is so sad what happened to him. :( I agree that he didn't seem to show much if any fear around all those crocs he dealt with and I don't know he always managed to deal with them the way he did. I used to enjoy watching his show.

oops, sorry I didn't think of that, my apologies, dear angel! Still, you're very welcome I was able to update you on the series and yes he does a lot of good work as did Steve Irwin as far as animals and environmental conservation is concerned! Also, yeah, he sure had a way with animals and specially crocs!

We got some of his shows here and the Australian ones of him with snakes - eek!!! Just the thought makes me feel creepy all over as can't abide snakes, not great on crocs either of course or big spiders but snakes, oh Lordy no!

No worries or apologies necessary dear angel! :P :) I feel the same way you do about snakes, crocs and spiders--double eek!! :P  However, I do remember either reading somewhere on ELC or maybe it was in our dear Wanda's book about how Elvis was talking to Starla on the phone one time and he really helped to allieviate her fear of spiders when she said she saw one while on the phone with him. He told her not to be afraid and that spiders respond to the vibrations in the voice and when she saw that's what was happening while talking to him it made her feel better. :P Go figure--our special guy doing something to help someone feel better or ease their fears!! :P :D  In any case, after reading that I felt a little bit better about them too! :P :D

 I'm so Very Sorry Ladies, but I'm so Terrified of Spiders that I don't think Listening to Our Sweet Elvis would Calm me in the Least. All the while Elvis would be telling me to talk in a Lower voice, the Faster I would be running from the Room.
