It's one of my fave ones too dear Sue and I also agree with what you said about the storyline of this film being very appicable in modern times as well.

I am especially touched with how lovingly Elvis' character related to the little girl who has autism.

I've spoken with different actors before about how they bring their characters to life that they portray and they've all pretty much said the same thing---you can rehearse, memorize and pretend to be this other person but in the end it all comes down to HEART.

I feel that even though Elvis was acting the part of Dr. John Carpenter in this film, it was the HEART of Elvis Presley that shined through on that screen so beautifully--especially with the scenes with the little girl.
