The Kin of Rock and Roll

Postby Presley kin » Fri Jul 21, 2006 9:01 am

As a member of the Presley family, and a fourth generation cousin of Elvis, I have taken a different step in Elvis' memory. I have opened a small Presley family history store and museum in Gettysburg, PA, where Elvis' memory will be to help us preserve the truth in the history and heritage of America. I have been told by friends who knew Elvis, and fans, that Elvis would have been proud of this idea. We know that he was very patriotic and had a deep respect for those who served our country. He would have been most proud of his ancestors had he known them all and how bravely they served, all in differing capacities, to help form our nation as it stands.

As Elvis was always looking to promote ways to help the younger generation find a better way of life, my goal is to have Elvis help influence the younger generations to respect their country and to set goals to help our nation preserve history and heritage. I have already witnessed the young children coming into the store and eyes lighting up when they learn that Elvis actually had family members who served our country in times of war and in peace, but who had a strong influence in founding this nation.

As Gettysburg is in the heart of Civil War country, many fans of the Civil War and history have been delighted to know that Elvis' kin was a part of such history and heritage. Young children today can relate better to history when influenced by modern heroes who have ties to earlier times.

It is an amazing subject and is doing very, very well. I am proud to do this in honor of Elvis, and as we also sell Elvis memorabilia, some proceeds and profits are set aside in the Presley Ancestor Fund to be further dispersed to different charities.

I think it is good for Elvis to be remembered as the spiritual person he truly was inside, but also for the deep regard he had for our country.

Maia has a beautiful website here and it is a fitting tribute to Elvis. He was more than just a casino entertainer and the King of Rock and roll. He was truly Blessed; a gift to us all.

If you care to check out our website, it is: www.elvisandhistory.com We have many Presley kin becoming involved in sending in ancestor photos for our kindred spirit wall, and also Elvis memorabilia to be displayed as part of the museum.

If you would like to leave your mark as to whether or not you like the idea of Elvis and History, please do so.

Thanks, Maia!

We hope to grow in time, and will keep the faith always, with the Blessings of God,

Sincerely,
Barbara Lee

Thank you all for your acceptance of my new website to honor our Presley ancestors, including Elvis.

I have taken the time to read, in-depth, the information on Maia's site regarding Elvis' spirituality and it is most touching. I have heard comments from people about Elvis that have hurt, but I know, as well as you all, that he was a very, very spiritual man and I want to thank Maia again for bringing this out for the public to see.

Elvis, in many ways, had the same honorable and Christian characteristics as my own dad. The Presleys were extremely religious, and our kin going back had a certain conviction of spirit and God that enabled them to help start in motion the formulation of our great country. Elvis carried that same spirit and Will of God within him, but, unfortunately, the void that was left to him when his mama passed was something he could never surmount. I know that void very well. He was a deep person searching for the limits of his soul and I had always surmised that he found a difficult time living in the present because he was so much an old soul. His light will never go out. I only hope that people, like yourselves, will continue to bear his torch and let others know that there was something very special about Elvis Presley. Thank you all again, and I would love to come back on and discuss spiritual matters with you all. I am also deeply involved in metaphysics, having been a strong clairvoyant since childhood. (I wonder if this is something we inherited from our Native American side??)

God Bless you all.

For your kind words. I am doing my best to contribute positively to society in Elvis' and our ancestors' memory. Unfortunately, I will be going for heart surgery soon and would like to ask for your prayers. I feel I will be allright for my job is not yet done here.

Heart defects have obviously run in the family for many years; Elvis being a party to that as well, not just from his mother's side. My dad passed from the negative results of a heart defect he never knew about, and Elvis was not aware that so much of the family history included health issues such as this. Elvis was not aware of his own affliction, I am sure.

Then again, at that time progress was not fully assessed to evaluate such defects and degenerations of the heart. We have come a very long way.

I have not been online much due to my health issues, but am hoping to bounce back as soon as I can to begin again my heartfelt work among the living.

God Bless you all for your spiritual inspiration and guidance unto yourselves and others. Thank you for your support!

In peace, love, and light,
Barbara Lee
