Elvis on location for “Stay Away Joe” in 1967:

Quote:
ELVIS: You’d love the stars-God Cilla, you can about pick them from the sky! You know I was lookin’ yesterday and I saw three stars fall! Three together!

PRIS: It was just a meteor. breaking up-that’s all-stars don’t fall! Elvis-I want you.

ELVIS: Sure they do-they fall! When they die out-they’re like little meteors, but they are called stars due to the mass of them.

PRIS: Did you hear me! I said I WANT YOU!

ELVIS: Oh-same here-Cilla, when you come-bring the check book-the red one-please. I’d like to pay for some things I got before I leave here

**************
no year given on this...

Quote:
DAD: Son, I know your upset about this–if you just got some sleep and let it out of your mind a while it’d help you. You did the right thing boy, there wasn’t nothing else to do here now.

ELVIS: I know daddy, I know. It’s just-just I had hoped that things would work out and we’d be a family again, that’s all. You know, it’s been a long time-I-I-will miss her and-and the baby. I don’t know what I’ll do-just don’t know daddy. My heart’s so-so-numb right now. I guess it was the emptiness of the house-you know? It was like-like when momma left us-man-I don’t know.

DAD: Son, you’ll see her and you’ll have the baby girl back-why she can visit us and she can stay summers with you....hoe’s the headache boy? Did you take the medicine?

ELVIS: Yeah-it’s better. My stomach is kinda tender and I’m not keepin’ nothin’ down-water even comes up. But by tomorrow it will be better, I’m sure. It’s just I can’t get to sleep-my head’s buzzin’ like a saw mill!

DAD: Son-I think you’d better see the doctor again and get something for that-you looked kinda peaked today and I don’t think you should put it off-not with this trip coming on and the time you’ll be out.

ELVIS: Okay-tomorrow first thing-I’ll call ‘em. Daddy, would it be okay if I came over there—and slept? I-I’d like to be with you tonight.

DAD: Sure baby, you come on over-want me to come ‘round for you?

ELVIS: Would you daddy-if it’s not too much trouble gettin’ the cart out-I’d like it. I’m not much for walkin’ out there tonight. Thanks.

DAD: Be right there son-get on some warm clothes-it’s bitter out there tonight-might be snow flurries they said.

ELVIS: Okay-I’ll be downstairs in the kitchen. See you then.

DAD: Okay-bye.

Elvis told Wanda that he "owed" Priscilla from a past life.

They truly were at different places--and that is perhaps the saddest thing of all. She really hadn't had a chance to do much on her own after she moved in with Elvis. Never had a real teen life, dating different people. And I doubt she had much of a chance to make friends with girls. I'm sure Elvis didn't really understand that, either. A different time, a different place in their lives may have made a big difference.

I find it ironic that her sister and Elvis read spiritual books and the Bible and talked about spiritual things while Cilla couldn't abide that side of ELvis.

Wonder what would have happened if she had been more open to his beliefs and had not cheated on him after they married? I think she probably does have regrets over this.

I agree with the part about "pretending;" that I would not want. I wanted her to be sincere. But we can all live someone else's life for them; it's our own lives we have trouble with.

BTW--I love the interaction on this forum.

Hi Magic, great name- inspires mystic hope.

IIt would have been terriblly difficult to live in Priscilla's shoes just as it would have been very trying and tiring to be in his shoes. That they have remained loving friends and caring about one another, is in face amazing in it's self.
I feel sorry for Cilla, she was so young and spoiled and had anything her heart desired after moving to Graceland. And Elvis gave her such a life-way toomuch for a young impressionable girl...and he expected too much perfection in her also. She must have gotten very tired of waiting on him, of doing things for him and being what he wanted and staying perfect in his eyes. What a chore that must have been! anyway, her side must have been looking terrible too, through those very young eyes for so long. wjh

I'll repeat myself again but you are such a nice person Wanda..but I had to write something,in the,IN HIS WORDS-SONG LYRICS thread something I just read in another forum and hit the ceiling cause those words reminded me the opinions of a few friend who are new to Elvis but unfortunately bought some new stuff to know him better...I'm sure there are more "unfortunate" women in this old world than Priscilla, yet they still manage to keep a level..

You are right, they did and he did- it took much great love and understanding for the two of them to get along as they did- and even right to the end Elvis loved her and wished her well. He had hope/dreams of one day it might all work once again but that was like him, the dreamer that he was, like a child wanting things back as they used to be again-he was very child like in many ways and that I think was why he was such a dreamer and had such big plans and hopes when so young-and was able to achieve them! That was always a wonder to him- again childlike wonder and always gave the credit to other people... when it was his talent, looks and ability to charm the pants of anyone (figure of speech).
Still, God gave him his voice, his parents gave him his looks and Col. Tom gave him the chance as he once said and I asked something about what did he give and he said, sweat, blood and tears and he laughed...then said time mainly, I gave the time...of my life. wjh.

I think they became much closer after Dee Stanley left the picture. Elvis seldom vetoed Vernon in anything, I think. Could be wrong. But I know Vernon was lost when Elvis was gone.

That is so true Magic. Vernon suffered a lot of his son's dead.

Losing a child must be hard for any parent.
And a son like Elvis was unique.

After his death Vernon really didn't know what to do and felt lost.

That imperium and his legacy needed taken care of and since Vernon died, I think Priscilla with the right people around her did a very good job.
