A vase filled

Postby 73smile » Thu Apr 10, 2008 10:08 pm

It is easy to write about the beauty and the generous spirit that was
present always then and it did not demand much in return,
instead the beauty of the man gave pleasure to millions all over the vast world and his spirit was the twin to the beauty that comprised who Elvis was and the dreams that he would share with us.

A vase is pretty, it can be small or it can be large and made of the finest china and it is better that the vase is filled with flowers of every hue of the rainbow then it is to leave the vase empty to set on a shelf unused and
not given more than a second look; Elvis was not set on a shelf to be admired but instead he lived to give joy.

There are not enough flowers to fill a vase enormous enough that could possibly compare with the colors that Elvis brought to the world in every shade and style, nor are there words enough that can be written that celebrate Elvis' gift of faith, hope, happiness, generosity and most important of all it was his love that reached out to us.

I thank you Elvis for giving so much to me that I continue to want my
vase to be filled with hope like yours was, a faith that you never doubted, joy that was evident to any person hearing you sing or watching you when you smiled, and your smile filled not just the pictures so many took of you, but your smile filled the hearts of all of us on earth.

Love,
Marjorie

so easy

Postby 73smile » Sun May 25, 2008 3:13 pm

It is not hard to write about Elvis and his heart that flowed over with love for so many in America and around the globe, because his was a pure and a transparent love; there was not a pretense around when the Elvis I "know" expressed hope or joy or when he shared his beliefs.

I think of his spirit often when I am thinking about all that I have to be thankful for because the One above allowed him to be loaned to help us
to want to grow, to be better people, to help where and when we could, and in that way begin or maintain our spiritual quest.

Our beautiful and spirited daughter, Elizabeth, and her loving husband, Matthew and our son, Jeff, and his Katie and our oh so curious and special grandsons; and then certainly Walter still here to see and to feel the respect and the caring of so many act to reinforc the love my heart holds.

Elvis coming to earth was not an event that was much noticed until he began to sing, but when he did that beautiful voice that would rock the world, had a twin of joy so pure for sharing the spiritual gospels that did and are still today, bringing millions to the correct road.

In my almost 57 years on planet earth I have admired many vases but somehow, upon closer inspection, they were found by me to be 'shallow' and so I kept searching and I found the right vase to help to fill with all hues of color that one could possibly imagine.

My spiritual vase wobbles at times, threatening to spill out some of the colors and hues that are filling it, but then I remember on my own or with nudges by Elvis that the One above made him and HE made me and so stop asking "Why me?" and instead ask "Why not me?" This is hope.

Believing is faith, searching is essential, helping others to WANT to even begin to look for the path that leads to the spirit road requires patience, remaining humble requires one to understand that all of the answers may not be found while in physical form, and that is how my vase rights itself.

I get lots of help from my loved ones here at ELC. My family here is always here to share with, to hold my hand, to let me know I am loved with no conditions and the hues then, brighten and burst with new colors and my vase stays filled with all of you wanting me to be family here, too.

Always with love,
Marjorie

Inspired by

I am inspired by the love that is palpable here at ELC.
It is home to so many who are all on the same page, so to speak.
I have faith that all of us here will help support ELC financially when we are able. Once the auction here is completed the end of June I will be making another contribution.
It is important to my soul that ELC be here.
Always with love,
