I watch it more often than the other concerts,I feel even more closer to him in this one,my mom can't stand seeing him so tired and sick but I can't get enough of his matured and powerful and I can say at best voice, despite of his terrible health condition ..so sad it's true but I'm proud of him more, everytime I watch that concert..

Elvis was going across the country saying Until we meet again, Adios, and may God bless you as he as Blessed me. He purposely started saying that-every show...right to the end. He could say goodbye and not shake people up doing it...he found a way. wjh

That's exactly the impression I had viewing that concert for the first time. It was last May and I haven't "found" ELC yet. I did not have the information I have now, so I was "virgin" seeing it. I was totally shaken and ran to my mate saying: "Elvis new that he was going to die and was saying goodbye!" Something different was present in his attitude along all the show, specially his way to give that scarf and those last words.

Yes, absolutely, do understand what you're coming from, Amanda!

Haven't seen this concert for some time but feel that, because he had so much courage doing this show, giving everything he had for his fans and admirers, I need to watch this again and yes, his voice is as powerful as ever, a true treasure of a man, always!!

Bringing this thread back around for anyone who missed out earlier!

Also, for anyone who might still have the email of this friend that Laurie mentions (won't mention her name out of wish for discretion) and anyone who still has her email address please could they send an email through, just a short one would do!

Julie heard from her a short while ago and mentioned this lady is convinced no-one cares for her in ELC, have sent her an email myself and if anyone who knows her could do the same, I think we could hopefully prove her wrong, the last thing I'd wish for (and sure you feel the same) is for someone to think we don't care so would be most appreciated?!

THANK YOU! :P

thanks wanda for that great heartfelt reply to the initial question by laurie , it was perfect .
yes i too think Elvis gave his last concert taping as a gift to us fans .
i get so angry when you get people saying oh he looked awfull its terrible and so on, i believe he could not help feeling bad as he was ill, but that concert is one of my favourites and in my eyes it stands as a testimony to us his fans , of his spirit to go on even when he physically was not really able to , he showed us he was not going to be licked by illness .
and i admire the forfeit he must have made for us , by going on when he was feeling like crap shall we say .

i love elvis whatever size or looks as i love and respect the man , the human being .
and i wish i could silence those gits of people who even utter one word of negativity towards him .
but Elvis would not want me to do that , so i will just quietly seethe and hold my tongue out of respect for elvis
luv ju

It is hard to convince people when they don't want to be convinced. I have e-mailed Ginette too, and had no response-but then maybe she doesn't get mail at that address any more since she's left ELC? I even e-mailed a few times responses to her on Joe's site but nothing was returned. I can't figure out if I did something she was not happy about or exactly what happened but as I said, if someone choses to go another way, that is their choice and one they live with. However, I don't think she is seeing things here as clearly as perhaps we would like or had hoped. Whatever, I hope she will one day decide to return and even if she doesn't post-read some things. I think that there were more people she knew on Joe's site-it's pretty big and been around awhile and there are so many things going on that keep things busy-it's not like this site in that this is a more spiritual and personal site. I like that kind of thing myself, but some people aren't comfortable with it and need more stimulation from outside sources. That's not a good way to explain what I meant but it's the best I can do since I have to hurry when I post or get cut off! bye, wjh

You made yourself perfectly clear, Wanda. :)

I understand your hurry because after a while connected to ELC I have to restart the Internet line with a program I got from an informatic technician, because it gets cut out. Then I loose the lighted icons that signal the post not read and the text I'm writing, etc... This way I miss often posts and I limit myself, thus participating less.
