I am from New Orleans and my home was severly damaged in the hurricane. I have had to move to a different place in the state, taking me away from my friends and the home I lived in for 32 years.

My friends call me, we talk about what we lost and what we are going to do. They tell me they cry all the time. I seem to be handling it better than most of them. And it's because I have Elvis. The first time I heard an Elvis song on the radio after the storm, I felt like everything would be okay. Elvis has helped me through many personal crisis in my life. He makes me laugh, he has brought me good friends, he brings me joy just looking at him.

Like Wanda said, I too believe that Elvis would be so happy to know that he and his music were able to help get you through such a sad time in your life. All he ever wanted to do was to bring joy and happiness to others and your story proves just how much he was able to fulfill his life's purpose.

Although "Hurricane Katrina" happened a few years back, I wish to bring this thread back around as I feel it is a moving and positive, not to mention inspiring post by one of the ELC members in answer to a bad time she experienced, hope no-one minds me recycling some posts so that some of our newer members to the fold can check them out?

Yes indeed Sue, and New Orleans got a little hit by another Hurricane this year to, but by the Grace of God the Levies held from the Flood waters.
