Elvis said sometimes he couldn't sleep thinking about them sleeping in their car on the street somewhere-the police wouldn't let them sleep outside his place in Bel Air etc; as it was a narrow road, curves and neighbors didn't like it anyway. So Elvis a few times when the weather was bad got in his car and drove ar ound looking for them to make sure they weren't out there in a storm or some where unsafe. Finally, he gave it up and just let them follow him around, do whatever but still in summer he'd have cold drinks sent out to them and a few times sent money down so they could go get food which they brought back and ate and then someone went to get their trash!

This is, for sure, 'our Elvis' the man who had such caring and compassion for others, that he'd thought about others less fortunate who were stuck out in all weather and sleeping in bad conditions.

What a sad and tragic thing to have happen to you. :( I too feel that if Elvis had lived he would have done everything he could have to help find Cricket's little girl. I agree with you totally Sue in that it is very inspiring to hear the way Elvis touched her life which helped her get involved in such a wonderful charity to help locate mising children!! :D Elvis's driving around in bad weather to check on the safety and well-being of those girls, giving them money for food, etc.......shows that his actions NEVER failed to show the love and compassion of his heart and soul. :D Thank you so much Zey for sharing this story and thanks again to you also Sue for bringing it back up again. :D As tragic as this story is, it is comforting to know that little Robin was found in Heaven and is surround by the LIGHT AND LOVE of God and El'vis too! :D

I can't even imagine what a heavy responsability's load to be the central focus of so much attention, interest, curiosity, devotion, adoration, love, demands, expectations... coming from Elvis' fans. Not to speak about the difficulty to handle envy, hostility, greediness... by the other side of things...

I find Elvis managed so wonderfully through it all, choosing to be anchored in the fields of Love.
