Wanda has helped me to understand Elvis and the happiness and the sadness that he experienced. He made so many excuses for his ex-wife that I believe he convinced himself he really was to blame for her having an affair---to see if she was still valid as a person---I believe that is what she wrote in Elvis and Me ???" and that makes me mad because in no way should Elvis ever have taken on the burden of what she did to him. She was with him a long time before the "wedding" in 1967 and that is why her excuses seem to have little credibility for me. She had it all and yet she still wanted more. She wanted to be in the limelight but it was Elvis who was the charsmatic man who drew millions to him as he sang and acted throughout his adult life and so very hard and so long until he could not go even one more step.
Even now she wants to be at Graceland when IMPORTANT people are there. It is almost as though she is attempting to recast herself as his widow instead of the woman who divorced him. She knew what he did and why but he came home to her and to Lisa but that was never enough for her.
Okay now I feel better. I vented and I am glad that I can do that here without being castigated.

What you said here, Cooper, may be right, but still let us try not to feel bitterness. El'vis told us so beatifully through Maia some time ago, that Priscilla's soul is very dear to him. If he can forgive her, WE should try to follow his example. We are all human and make mistakes. Let us concentate (if at all) on our own flaws. Elvis always worked on himself for becoming more understanding, and I think he failed sometimes but was successful most of the time.

I share your point of view, Christine. We can choose our line for understanding life, others and ourselves and I truly believe that Love, with its expression of compassion and forgiveness, adds much more to construct a better world for all of us, something that is really needed.

We are inmersed in a society that seems to prize to be "against", to censure, to be highly critic, to look at things from the intellect and hardly we are taught to feel with the purest part of our heart, like it was only for fools. And nobody wants to be fooled. Well, Elvis was not a fool and we still feel his influence and we admire and love him for something that he transpired: his loving quality.

As Christine-Sarena said, we all have flaws, for it's our human condition in this realm. If we just could leave open the door for anyone to change to better -in the sense of evolving to a higher lightful level (ufff, words are not exact to define what I wish to say!)- we would be doing the same for ourselves.

If we take a close view, we'll see what we do to others, we are doing to ourselves, because there's nothing we do "outside" that is not "inside". It's known, but easily forgotten.
