Thank you so much for posting this link for us dear Sue. His love and compassion truly knew no bounds even if it was a cost to himself. Definitely an extraordinary and amazing man. It touches my heart and soul too to see how tenderly he treats the little Sioux Indian girl and how appreciative he was of the plaque he received from the Mayor. Breaks my heart though, and truth be told angers me, to see that he had to REPEATEDLY ask those bozos for a scarf to give to the little Indian girl. In spite of it all though, his love for all remained endless which truly does show, how like the title of this thread states, he truly was a TESTAMENT OF LIGHT..........AND LOVE.

AMEN!! Yes, the guys do rather stumble on around and take ages to find anything, don't they?!!

Another thing I thought/felt deep down that crossed my mind was, if he had been as they said, 'high' so much of the time at the end then how could Elvis have been so lucid and made his needs made so clear plus talking to the man and the little girl so politely?! No, instead what I could see was a very physically ill man who looked like he was running a high temperature hence those close to him mopping his face regularly as Elvis looked really feverish, I may be wrong but got the impression this was BEFORE the concert and not after?

The guys stumbling around and taking ages to find something is pretty much right on the mark my friend. Also, and I say this sadly, I think they just didn't pay attention to or listen to him nor did they care about whatever he asked for. You've also made another EXCELLENT point here Sue with what you said about how there is no way in the world that Elvis could have been so lucid or polite and focused in his conversation with the Mayor or the little Indian girl if he had been as "high" all the time towards the end as they like to claim he was. I, too, saw what you did---a very physically ill man who was still MORE than willing to give his all no matter what the cost and most likely probably was running a fever. No, you're not wrong---this presentation was done BEFORE the concert as Elvis mentioned the Mayor's comments to him DURING the show.

Thanks for confirming this, Mari, that's what I had thought but wasn't 100% sure and can understand your feelings on seeing Elvis as I myself had done earlier, felt decidedly uncomfortable about the way he seemed to be sweating so much there, it certainly seems he looked to be so feverish!
