They were cheating too, encouraging Elvis by bringing women in to meet him, knowing that he and Pris were having problems, that Elvis wasn't happy and neither was she happy with him playing live, changing into someone she didn't know and then having to "compete" at home and whereever with all those other beautiful women who were free to do whatever they wanted- I don't think the guys realized nor did Elvis, at the time how much pay back would be coming on down the line.
They all lost their wives, had problems at home and it was their own creation-their own lack of loyalty to their wives/families and to Elvis as well. He depended on them, he had to there was no other way for him considering the popularity he was experiencing again. I have to laugh when these other entertainer guys start claiming they were as popular as he and they went out, they had lives etcf: and he could have too-blah-blah-blah.
They don't have a clue what it was like for him, not a clue. Noone really does, maybe Sinatra might have an inkling but none have come close since Elvis hit it big time-not once-but twice!...and it never ended...until he was gone... No one draws a crowd like he did-every single time he appeared publicly. EVERY time...even for those movies-he always had to have security to keep people back. Sometimes armies of them! wjh
