In his last phone call on 16th August 77 Larry Geller asked Elvis whether angels have got wings and Elvis replied:" Angels only can fly because they take themselves so lightly" ......and they both had a good laugh :roll:

I have heard reports from people who have seen angels, in open visions or near death experiences, and at least some (maybe more; I have not read enough reports for a full picture) say that angels do not have wings. It's possible the whole wing thing may have come from human assumption and/or artistic expression.

That's what Elvis said-he didn't see any wings either-but how else would they travel? Guess humans have to have that "picture" to accept it maybe? The angels in the Sistine (spelling?) Chapel on the ceiling show wings too-all the way back there in time. wjh

Laurie, I have read reports from people who beheld angels both WITH and WITHOUT wings! It seems there is no limit in the heavenly wonders!!

Well, if they are "handin' them out-then I want some good lookin' strong ones" to quote a friend about what to expect and what was wanted in Heaven. You know, I've had dreams of people who have gone on, of being with them and around seeing them-they do not have wings-and usually regular type clothing. But then, perhaps all those things we think of as being related to angels will come later-as predicted in many religious writings....???? Also so, somewhere in the Bible there are comments about God's angels...only so many were present and available according to my "expert" who read every passage about angels in the Bible, old and new and from several other books as well. A questioning mind is a treasure sometimes. Soon, probably sooner than we think, we shall know the reasons why. wjh

There have been other things written about angels also but some can be too 'new agey' for me, prefer biblical interpretation though it's nice to think all have a guardian angel and I sure do need one at times to fight the little guy with a pitchfork sitting behind my left shoulder!! :wink:
