Elvis - A Lighted Candle

Would have loved to have met Elvis to have been able to speak to him, not in a fan 'star struck' kind of manner but just to have been able to get to know him as you did. To have him be able to feel he could just be himself and talk and be who he was, naturally and to know he could trust me. I value who he was, respect his thoughts and opinions and could have listened to him just speak about whatever was on his mind or heart.

Oh, would I ever!!! Elvis, such a very special and gorgeous man, inside and out! I'd have loved to talk to him about spiritual matters so much, ask him how he felt and what he thought about things, to ask questions (knowing me I'd have at least a million and two! ) and just talk through what was in his heart and on his mind, wow what a wonderful chance!

A wonderful chance indeed my sweet friend!! I especially would have loved to have been able to just sit back and listen to whatever was in his heart and on his mind(maybe get a question or 2 or 3 in there too ) because I remember reading in our dear Wanda's book about how he was talking to someone(I forget who it was now darn it--there go the few brain cells I had left ) and he told that person something to the effect of "no one cares how I feel or what I think--only how HE feels." I remember feeling so sad for him after reading that the first time and thought to myself that I would have loved to have been able to be another person that he felt he could talk to about anything and have him know that I truly and genuinely cared about what was on the mind and in the heart of that precious little boy from Tupelo and not just the amazingly talented guy on stage.

AMEN, dear Mari! I wish that all of us here could have been with Elvis to listen, talk with this wonderful man! To be there and care what Elvis, The Man had to say, to be company for such a sweetheart of a man!

However, we have El'vis as our teacher and guide now and he surely knows how we all feel for him! One day we're gonna get to meet him again too and then we can be assured of time with Elvis when we're never going to have to part from him again!
