WELL SINCE KNOW ONE ELSE AS COMMENTED ON GIVING ELVIS SOME SUGAR! I GUESS I WILL. I WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE THEN HAPPY TO HAD COVERED THAT SWEET FACE AND MOUTH WITH ALL OF THE SUGAR I COULD GIVE HIM, AND AS FOR TREATING CHILDERN RIGHT, I WISH I WOULD HAVE TRIED TO HAVE BEEN AROUND ELVIS WHEN I WAS A KID. I KNOW HE WOULD HAVE HELPED ME AND BLEIEVED ME WHEN KNOW OTHER ADULT WOULD. FAIRYTALE!

Just bringing this round once more!

One young man came to see me several years ago bearing a plaque he had made for Elvis. His story was one of being alone and heartbroken as a child. He said, "By the law of average, I should have grown up to become a criminal; but instead, I have faith in my lord, I am in college, and I play football for the Ohio Buckeyes. This is because of Elvis' example and his music, especially his gospel music." He had brought the plaque as a way of saying thank you to Elvis. His dream was to continue playing football for the Buckeyes and then for the Detroit Lions. I haven't heard from this young man, but I hope his dream becomes a reality, just as Elvis' did.

This illustrates to me how Elvis provided such a great role model for all, gave people dreams to follow and live up to as the example (and I'm sure there are many more of them!) shown above! :)

Thank you so much Sue for bringing this "sweet" thread back around again. :D I would've been happy to give Elvis all the "sugar" he wanted or needed. :P :D Seriously, though, I feel that Elvis has always been and always will be a GREAT example of what a really good, loving, caring and generous person should be. :D No, he wasn't perfect, and as he told Wanda" I ain't no saint", he was however a VERY kind-hearted man whose heart was made of PURE LOVE AND GOLD. :D His riches of heart extended far beyond anything money could ever buy and that he was ALWAYS most generous with too. :D

Elvis' legacy lives on!

Postby Rainbow Light » Wed Nov 14, 2007 5:55 am

Even today, Elvis' legacy of being generous is still alive with his fans keeping up his tradition in his name. Most recently, ElvisMatters, an Elvis club in Belgium invited paralyzed 17 year old Michiel Stroobans, to join them on their annual trip to Graceland all expenses paid. (February 2007)
