Christmas at Graceland

Postby Rainbow Light on Sun Oct 15, 2006 10:03 am

CHRISTMAS AT GRACELAND
The house is all decorated with beautiful lights
The trees and the Nativity Scene,
which brought him such delight.

The stairs are lined with garland,
The drapes are beautiful red,
The trees all glimmer with lights and icicles,
And the table is beautifully set.

The Christmas songs are still playing
For family and friends,
For he gave it his all,
Right to the end.

And he looks down from Heaven above
He smiles and says: "I send you my love."

Lovely poem, Sue. :D Very festive! And thank you Nadine for posting these Graceland Christmas pictures.
How beautiful!
I wonder how much of the furniture & decor is like when Elvis was there?

It behooves one to sense God as dwelling within each of us, rather than as some distant entity, far above and seemingly beyond our reach.

Thank you everyone for the poem, glad you all liked it - Nadine, many thanks for adding the gorgeous festive pictures of Graceland too, brings the words alive yet more somehow and encourages memories of what it must have been like at Christmas with Elvis at Graceland! :D :D

Christmas

Postby 73smile on Thu Oct 26, 2006 4:28 pm

This evoked a feeling of peace in my heart. When we went to Graceland for the very first time in 2004. the Christmas decorations were still up and you captured the joy, too, that Elvis shared at Christmas time.
Thank you for posting this.
