Ray Walker: [/quote]You see, Elvis was true to whatever he did - good or bad, advised or unadvised, planned or not planned, prompted or impromptu. Some of the time Elvis didn't even register in himself that he thought of others first, but in his heart's mind he did just that. Those of us who worked so closely with him saw many a time when we judged that he could have and should have "just said something", but it was not his spirit to interfere with or to invade someone else's area even when needed, and even when it would have been accepted and appreciated by those around him. When a person fails to nurture himself, respect himself - yes, even to protect himself, though purposefully well-intended - ultimately, we who are near him hurt as much as we joy when sharing his presence
Along the same theme, Gordon Stoker:
He never raised his voice in the fifteen years that we were around him. He absolutely had a super, super nice attitude. He was really an inspiration to me in that he never....people would come in and say things to him about what he couldn't do or should do, and if I had been the star I would have said, 'I am doing this my way', but you know, Elvis never said that. It's just unbelievable - the attitude he took with so many different things. I couldn't believe that he never even raised his voice and got mad about something and stormed out
Any comments, anyone on the above?
