This Monday there will be a notice released to all the Elvis sites telling how to obtain a copy of Darrin Lee's new book "Desert Storm". this has been a long search and soul wrenching effort by Darrin to counter the wrong views of Elvis regarding his "reputed excessive drug use" and to give back some dignity to the man who has been misunderstood on so many counts from the moment he became Elvis Presley, star performer.
Darrin has researched via people who were present at concerts during this time period 73-74 and 76 and who saw, heard and were told of events surrounding Elvis' illness, hospital stays and the actions and reactions that he presented on stage...and off. Darrin once and for all hopes to put an end to all the misconceptions and false information that is out there in the media and among so many people all over the world by presenting factual information that proves Elvis was ill, did need the medications prescribed for him and that he did not "just use drugs for pleasure or to escape from life and that he was doing the best he could with the problems of health that he had to live with most of his life.
This should be a great book and I reccomend it though I have not read
any of it-I have pm'd with Darrin and believe from his words that he is sincerely intent on bringing the memory and reputation of Elvis back to it's rightful place-respected and looked up to in our world, for his great accomplishments in music, his wonderful performances and for his great humanity and love for his fellow human beings.
