Dear Wanda,
Please thank Starla for sharing her treasures with us! It was delightful to read her letters from Uncle Elvis. I'm actually all choked up now- they sem to have had such a sweet, spunky kind of friendship.
Joanna is in my prayers. I was relieved to see she's posting here again, so we can talk to her and tell her how much we want her to get better!
Thank you for posting the direct link, Laurie. I'm quite clumsy with computers and despaired of not being able to locate these treasures at first.
Love,
Trish |

Love your avatar FairyTale! So cool... You will like Starla's letters-he was so sweet and thoughtful and very uplifting for a young girl to have an Uncle who understood how hard it is to get courage when young.
She really does miss him alot even now...and wishes things were different-she truly wanted a career in music but she wasn't the type personality to "sell herself" and that's necessary in that business, I mean be able to go in and wow them with your abilities and so forth and she only had courage and came alive on stage...she was different up there-in control and confidant- a bit like him in that way too. But off stage she needed a Col. Tom and we didn't have the money to get one of those and it took money or someone you knew-etc:...It worked out for the best. wjh _________________ Wanda June Hill

For sure, I know Fairytale will enjoy reading Starla's letters when she has the opportunity to do so!
While it didn't work out for Starla to be able to follow a showbusiness career, specially in terms of needing a manager similar to Colonel Tom and things worked out for the best as you mentioned, Wanda, yet from what you've told me elsewhere in Starla's life she is a very talented and skillful business woman who can more than hold her own in the world of business and all credit to her for that! Her Uncle Elvis would be very proud for sure! _________________ Seeks to encourage and inspire! |
