Life is like a Puzzle
Anyone who believes life is a monotonous mess
Is not living it enough to love it.
Those who say it never changes
Are not moving.
For when you look around at life
You see it one way.
You blink
And it is different.
The hues change colors within and without
As we watch and we wonder but not with doubt.
Life is an ever changing puzzle
With some missing pieces.
A fragile lock
That the key has been lost to.
It is not what it appears to be
But a mirror reflection.
It finds meaning only in the way you view it
Reflections change over time.
Life, like love, is what you believe it to be
That it is what you made it to be.
It holds the meaning you give it
And the strength that you instill in it.
Nothing more
Nothing less if no effort is made to fit the pieces together.
The picture can stay incomplete or it can be
Much, much more, if only we choose to see.
Trips through my college literature books have caused me to reread what a younger version of me put on paper. Youth sees life as incomplete but as we grow, as we love ourselves as much as we love others, and others love us too, we can look and see that the key was not lost but instead just misplaced until it was the right time to open the fragile, so very fragile lock.
Like Elvis learned from day to day and from one experience to another; that he was supplying for some, pieces missing and at the same time he was completing his own puzzle. The picture finally was complete and his blue eyes send that message just as his beautiful smile continues to shed light on dark pieces, thought lost, that just need a little help to fit in a rightful place.
Life is a transition from one place in time to another and as we pass through various stages and lives we can learn not to throw out what looks like nothing because we can never be sure it is not the most important piece of all. The gift of life and love from the One above.......
