Hi Mari,

I'm just catching the last part of this thread and saw these wonderful pictures you posted here for the first time ever. They put joy in my heart :D and I thank you.

I completely agree with what you wrote here. Who loves their fans as much as Elvis did, and puts up with all that nonsense for their sake? I can't think of anyone. In a slideshow on Joe Esposito's website he says something like, "Elvis's fans have no idea how much he loved them. He loved them as much as they loved him." Well, I think we DO have some idea.... :) And I love that Elvis also jumped to the defense of OTHER celebrities' fans; that he was upset that the Beatles didn't appreciate their fans, for instance. It's like he was the patron saint of fans. :D

Laurie, thanks also for that one of Elvis with the crazy expression. I never saw that one either... it's endearing to see him so "unpolished" for once.

I love him. :D

Image Yes, Ma'am! This is another thing in which he was/is a reference-model too, like in so many more...

Here we may understand what an arquetype is about. Elvis is/was an arquetype of Human Being.

"Kiss the bride soon!"

And thank you Amanda for that very illuminating thought: that Elvis was an "arquetype" of a human being. I'll be keeping that in mind for a long, long time...such a simple phrase, so much to think about with it.

Thank you!
Love,
Trish

You're so right, dear Mari! Lordy, that man looks so great in EVERY picture! :D :D

And I love that Elvis also jumped to the defense of OTHER celebrities' fans; that he was upset that the Beatles didn't appreciate their fans, for instance. It's like he was the patron saint of fans.

Thanks Trish! This brought a smile to my face, specially the idea of Elvis being 'patron saint of fans'! Sweet idea! :P :D
