I had an earlier email today to advise me that there were a few new subjects within the Elvis The Man section of the Lighted candle website. One was a letter typed by Elvis in about 1974. It took me a while to read as was a 6 page letter including some handwritten notes at the bottom.
I understand you had received a copy of this along with some others Elvis would have been comfortable with sharing such subjects he had discussed in the letter.
What can I say but Wow! Knew Elvis to be such a special and spiritual, open minded guy but the letter reveals so much more than I have ever heard about his thoughts and feelings on so many things.
His faith and sincerity were very touching and with some of his words I was in tears. Not out of sadness you understand? Also, there is a certain situation in my life just now which is really tough and frustrating to deal with. However, contributing to this Forum has been helpful and provided a springboard to bring my thoughts to. Also I wanted to help people and have posted some items in an effort to inspire over the last week or so. Not sure if I succeeded but I guess at least I tried!
The point I'm trying to get to is, that there were some words Elvis used about being positive and negative, faith and belief etc that truly 'spoke' to me and seemed to come just at the right time. Guess sometimes that happens though?!
You seemed so very much on Elvis' level regarding his life and spirituality, how wonderful it must have been to know, talk to and get a chance to understand him regarding his deepest thoughts, ideas and views on life.
Thank you for sharing so much with us!!!

Everything that Sue said spoke my heart. I just got done reading this letter--and it brought tears to my eyes. I was VERY moved by this. I will read this every time I am down and need some uplifting. To say that Elvis was incredible is an understatement. I am speechless. He's so awesome.

Awesome and incredible to be sure! All he left us in his music and versatile entertainment legacy to enjoy including that gorgeous God-given voice! Not to mention that smile and laugh!!!
Elvis remains to this day a great source of inspiration and I honestly believe that he would get such a great kick out of knowing he still helps us through his voice and words, wouldn't he just love it?!![]()
Best wishes and blessings
Sue
