Agreed 100% too!

Maral, You have also got a good point about Elvis' grandchildren picking this book up someday and getting HIS SIDE of the story for a change, how great to think of them reading and getting to know more of the truth about their grandfather from Wanda's book! :)

You know I am so very glad you brought this back around again dear Sue because I guess I somehow missed it the first time 'round.   I know I remember reading it and I could've sworn that I posted on it but I guess the ol' memory box is starting to slip a little. :P Anyway, sweet Wanda I thank you very much for sharing this precious conversation you had with Elvis while he was holding his brand new little baby. :D :D :D The unconditional LOVE in its purest form he had for his precious baby girl comes across so sweetly here. :D :D :D I heard Jerry Schilling say in an interview once something that was so VERY true: Elvis was a natural born father!!! :D  :D :D What a great "little daddy" he was!! :P :D :D

Glad you enjoyed reading this too, dear Mari! Please don't worry though, I know there's so much on this wonderful forum to read, catch up on and go through it is easy to miss out on things here sometimes! :) :P

Being moderator it's an honor and a pleasure to both be able to find and post new items and also find and re-read/re-post threads that others may also enjoy to read or discover so you are very welcome, dear angel! :D :D

I agree that Elvis, as Jerry said, was a natural born daddy! From all Wanda's posted here (in her own special, unique and wonderful way!! :D :D ), it's a joy to read his conversation about little Lisa, precious beyond words!!! :D :D :P

I wonder how his GrandChildern would take to Elvis? I wish that we could see a good picture of Ben, because the picture I seen of him when he was little you sure could see the Presley in him. FairyTale!

I noticed he looked quite a bit like Lisa and Elvis too, but Starla says he resembles his father more like when his dad was a young man... though I can't recall what Danny K. looked like younger now. He seems to have the blue eyes- but Lisa has her dad's eyes a bit more I thought.

I just read almost all of Nancy Rooks who was Elvis' maid from 1967, "Inside Graceland" book and she mentions that Elvis adored his little baby girl, said when she was born how beautiful she was and was so happy he said they'd have a boy next! And that maybe they'd have 20 kids! Excitement talking from that kid's point of view! She also says that when Priscilla was told how excited and happy Elvis was that Pris said, "Well, he'll have to have them himself- because I'm not having any more babbies!" An odd statement to make from someone who's husband believed "wanted children too". But then, at that time having just had a baby, maybe lots of women think that way- I know I did too. I didn't want to have anymore children because I didn't feel I could "handle it all" along with having to raise them etc: and one was quite enough at the time! Probably she didn't feel too "secure" in her new "job" right then either; you know most dads back then, were not into taking responsibility for the new baby things one has to do day and night- I doubt Elvis was much different- though he loved his little baby girl so much I think he would have enjoyed taking care of her, bathing her etc:. Nancy Rooks mentioned too, that Elvis would lay down with Lisa on his stomach and just marvel over how beautiful she was etc;... It was nice to read her book, she was a loving lady and enjoyed being there to help take care of him and his precious Graceland and then his little child also... and one could feel that coming from the things she says and doesn't say. I reccomend this book as being one of the truly good ones, written from the heart and with lots of love and respect for Elvis and his family members as well.

Nancy her book was lovely but often sad. telling the truth, i feel from the bottom of my hearth too. Esp the part of the reburial of Elvis did it for me, it broke my hearth and i criend, was upset..... It was hard reading...

Pris was Pris and I'm glad Nancy is one of the only persons who was brave enough to paint a right picture of her. A picture that is so often whipered about but hardly ever printed out of lawsuits fear I guess.....

Pris could have done so much better, both as a wife and as a mother. Sorry but i had the occasion to meet and speak to lot of people who knew both of them and they can not all lie, because these were very very independent sources, all of them......

I can understand she was young etc etc, but aren't we all when we married and had kids. She was no teen either and she had help and financial safety and all the luxury he could offer her so no still believe she did a lousy job conidering how easy life was for her

I agree that she might have done better- and I also think in her most private alone moments of remembering she realizes what could have been and wasn't...and there must be regret a plently. Whatever, I am glad there are people who were "there" who are writing their memroies and like all, there are some things better left unsaid, I know. Especially when it's too late for a "re-make". I just know there is no way on earth that I would have managed to live in that "bubble" surrounding Elvis- it was unreal most of the time, just like he so often said and as such, things couldn't "last"... for long. He said it was either "up or down" and he didn't understand why there wasn't any "middle ground" and added, "or maybe I just can't tell the difference anymore". I felt sorry for him at those moments when he was looking at things going on- it is true though that his life was a "fairytale" in many ways... and as he said, "Fairytales some times have bad endings..." I guess that's true as well...yet he would "do it all again" he said and meant it. I'm just sorry he didn't have at least the 4 kids he dreamed about... but he wanted them with the same woman... and that wasn't ever going to happen.

I remember every conversation i had with you over some years alreaddy and i remember every onversation i had with other people . Some who knew him directly some who knew some who were close.....

It seems noone really had nice things to say about her and i don't care what sugar coated story there are now told i believe those who witnessed it first hand, will always do that......

Yesterday I was watching my Charlie Hodge DVD called The Elvis I knew. I cried through a lot of it. I can't help it. I just want to jump back into time, run to Elvis, wipe his tears and soothe his soul. Charlie was such a true friend to Elvis, just like you Wanda. He really didn't say anything about anyone, except that when Priscilla was there she made dinner time like a family thing. Everyone sat around the table and ate together. She also told people that the cooks were not there to be short order cooks and if they wanted to eat, they would eat whatever the cooks made.

I also watched Elvis and Me on You Tube. THAT was very biased as far as I can tell. Why did she make Elvis out to be such a monster? It seems that at every turn she made him out to be angry. Oh, I guess we all have to live with our regrets and she must have so many at this point in her life. I wouldn't want all her riches or fancy houses for anything if I had to live with her closet full of skelatons. I would be on my knees begging for forgiveness. Maybe she has. I just cried and cried (I am a sensitive, cry baby) because she crucified him in this movie. I didn't have any tears left.

I am not perfect and either is anyone else, but no matter how much I don't care for someone I just couldn't hurt them for my own gain. I have regrets too, like everyone, but God forgive me that was the worst thing she could have done and it tells me all. To actually put into a book or movie that her husband raped her is unthinkable. Is nothing sacred to that woman? She talks about the MM, but look at what she has done to him with this? I wonder what Lisa Marie thinks about it.

I am sorry. I know that this is a site that should be about possitivity, but I still feel sad about what I watched yesterday. Thank goodness for you Wanda and Maia. Elvis must be looking down upon the two of you and smiling each and every day. He must whisper many thank you's in your ears and plant Elvis angel kisses upon your cheeks while you sleep.
Walk gently, speak softly and let the radiance of your soul speak for you.

good post.
Charlie Hodg was a sweet man but he never was the most outspoken one towards her....

Billy Smith, Sonny West, Marthy Lacker, some maids.......
They saw enough bullshit of her....

Esposito, Hodge, Schilling, they never wanted to have troubles with her and it showd in every interview.....

Elvis and me was horrible. Good actress but the actor didn't do him justice at all.....

She gave her side, a bluntly lie, if you ask me.... Carefully omitting HER faults, her blames.....

Oh well if that makes her happy. The true fans know better, saw good in him....

All the money in the world will never bring him back to her nor the beautiful days she had with him.....

She was adored by him for a while but Cilla wasn't content with what she had and lost everything or should i say walked away from a wonderful caring human being ......
