He didn't want to let anyone down

Postby Rainbow Light » Tue Apr 18, 2006 9:29 am

We are all aware that Elvis must have been in so much pain those last years of his life due to many medical conditions but he never felt like he could ever let ANYONE down.

Know that was so much of who Elvis was and so much going on that I'm sure we're wholly aware of but for himself, wish he had had more time to be able to take care of his own needs and health. He didn't want to let anyone see he was 'weak' (ie human) or know that he was sad, in pain and physically/emotionally suffering.
With all the frustration and boredom he may have felt at not being able to do more of what he wanted in his career, challenges and so forth and other things, he didn't seem to let others know how he was feeling and so kept many thoughts and feelings to himself.

It is known that emotional suffering can also lead or add to physical suffering/illness too and he had so few outlets or sources who he could trust to tell his inner thoughts to. Such a great shame for the beautiful soul that Elvis was.

Hi, Sue!

Today I took some time to go through unanswered posts and I found this one meaningful.

I agree with you. It makes me think that, as much as an human being evolutes, the lonelyer he comes. But the compensation must be that "on the top of the mountain" one is closer to God and this closeness is fullfilling.

World misunderstanding is compensated for God given LOVE. And it leads right to the sense of sharing with Creation, as one being part of Unity.

YES IT JUST REALLY MAKES ME SO VERY EMOTIONAL   :( WHEN I THINK, THAT KNOW ONE, IT SEEMS CLEARING WAS AROUND FOR ELVIS WHEN HE NEED A SHOULDER TO CRY ON, AN EAR TO LISTEN. YOU WOULD THINK AS CLOSE AS CHARLIE WAS TO ELVIS THAT CHARLIE WOULD HAVE SEEN THAT ELVIS WAS LACKING THESE SIMPLE BUT NEEDY THINGS. :( BARB!
WITHOUT A SONG THE DAY WOULD NEVER END, WITHOUT A SONG A MAN AIN'T GOT A FREIND, WITHOUT A SONG. SO I KEEP ON SINGING A SONG.

CHARLIE COULD HAVE BEEN TOO CLOSE TO THE SITUATION IN A WAY? BUT BELIEVE HE DID WHAT HE COULD. HE ACTUALLY HELPED ELVIS AS A FRIEND BY JUST BEING THERE AND HELPING HIM LAUGH WHEN HE WAS DOWN, HAVING MET CHARLIE (ALBEIT SOME YEARS BACK) I FELT HE WAS SUCH A GREAT JOKER AND WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE AS GOOD COMPANY FOR ELVIS WHATEVER ELSE HAPPENED!

Hallo, Amanda

You wrote so beautifully in reply to Sue:

I share your opinion completely.
Elvis may have felt lonely and misunderstood, but he he felt God`s love
and nearness, so he could stand above the suffering ( to a certain degree), "on the top of the mountain" as you expressed it.
That`s why I never think that Elvis` passing was a negative experience.
It surely was a moment full of glory as he had predicted himself it would be (in a phone call with Wanda in 1977).

Yes, Christine, I agree. I feel just the same.

I've been to the last moment with very loved ones: my grandmother, my father, my husband, my Teacher, close friends. As they parted, I always felt joy for them, pride for a accomplished life and a LOT OF LOVE.

My experience is that passing through illness, that person depurates and is able to reach LOVE fully. It creates really a field that may be sensed and shared, of Love and Light. Every death has been a great and fullfilling experience and I'm gratefull for having being able to live it.

I feel that it's of the most importance that we set apart our fears, to be able to help to create an harmonic entourage for the person who is going through the experience of death.

Death is beautiful. A cultural filter on our eyes makes that we approach it as shadowy and fearful.

What a beautiful, touching and oh so spiritually positive way to put it, Amanda!! :D

Best wishes,

No, I don't believe that Elvis' passing was a negative experience for him either but rather that moment full of glory and being able to know freedom from physical suffering. Again, refer you to El'vis (Rhama Azul)'s Aug 16 message in Field of Roses!

Charlie and Elvis

Postby Wanda June Hill » Thu Aug 17, 2006 6:20 pm

Hi, just a short response..(What!!) from me again. Elvis mentioned Charlie in that last year, wishing that he could find someone, have a family and be happy. He worried that he was so attached to him, realized that and was protecting Charlie from himself (Elvis) and all his "baggage and hangups" as he called it- only one time that I can remember. Elvis could talk very well, he didn't have to resort to his "roots" and slang talk but he did because it was "more him" than that smooth, sophistacated sounding other guy in interviews etc and the movies etc;. He also knew lots of the 60's-70's lingo too, but didn't go into that too often either. People were all jazzed when he said "sock it to me" on US Male and then when he said "jive" in the interview-that blew them away-and it surprised me because I didn't realize how little he used every day words when he spoke in public. There was definetly a public Elvis and a real Elvis at home guy... He didn't like making public appearances and "having to talk in front of all those people" and "act like I know somethin' an' be somebody. Man, I ain't no body, just one damn lucky s.o.b who was in the right place at the right time and happened to have a good head of hair!" Then he'd wrinkle up that nose, laugh and add, "Or was it that shakey leg?"
And as for Charlie, many a time Charlie was there for him, and Elvis knew he could always depend on Charlie. He was so worried when Charlie seemed to be drinking way too much ...he was going to have a talk with him about it and I think he did...they got drunk together...typical Elvis.
I am really disappointed in David Stanley's deal and that the media is going to hop on the band wagon because it's scandleous and sallacious materials. Making Elvis look like a real jerk, a sexual predator and just plan stupid as usual. Poor David, at age 4 he came to live at Graceland as Elvis' little brother, had everything a kid could want, traveled, lived high got paid a salary, became an addict, had anything he wanted any time he wanted, and he was Elvis' brother. But then Vernon wised up about Dee, Elvis died, David lost everything, his connections and money and claim to brotherhood with Elvis. He couldn't ever get things together because Elvis "deprived" him of an education-no schooling etc:-and it was beyond him to try to remedy that though he was still young enough-and then he didn't even get an inheritance...so what's he got? Nothing-so he does what it takes to get fame, money and "questionable
glory" out of cutting Elvis memory to pieces. Well, it just isn't going to work out like the air head thinks ... And I have to give Joe a hand for standing up for Elvis in this case. I hope people listen and can recognize truth from fairytales. Just more d,d,t's...Distortions, distractions and tales...just like Elvis said.

I have a "job" for ELC members and guests...I would like questions from you-things that I am going to be asked in interviews and I don't care what kind they are, good or bad for me. I am going to put together responses and counters for the things that are being said. I would like to have outside help-I am very close to the subject and tend not to be objective and of course, talk way too much. So I need to whittle down my responses to bring just the truth to light. Anyone who wants to think about this and help me out, I would appreciate it. Just don't be nice-they won't be. Been there, done that. I'm older now, and don't think as quickly or as impartally as I did then-I am also not as shy about saying what I think. Sometimes as you know, it ain't that good! Thanks, wjh

I would like questions from you-things that I am going to be asked in interviews

After reading an Associated Press report yesterday which said Elvis died of heart disease and prescription drug abuse, I hope the following question gets asked:
QUESTION # 1: Did Elvis have a prescription drug problem, and, if so, do you think it contributed to his death?

QUESTION # 2: Was Elvis a womanizer & was he into wild parties?

QUESTIONS # 3: Why do you think Elvis continues to remain so popular after all these years?

Reporters love to ask the sex, drugs, & rock 'n roll questions -- you know the down & dirty stuff, so be prepared for that. I would love it if they would also throw in questions about his loving, giving nature. I hope so . . .
Laurie

Questions

Postby Wanda June Hill » Fri Aug 18, 2006 12:32 am

Thanks Laurie, good ones. And they sure do like to throw those drugs, rock and roll, and sex into it. Even back in the 78-80s.

I plan to bring Elvis' spiritual side up as often as I can and mix it into every response I can. Also his forgiving and loving nature, his ability to touch people with his presence and how kind, considerate and thoughtful he was with everyone even when they were practically on the verge of tearing him limb from limb. And his generosity of his money and his time, personal time as well, he would spend his lunch breaks meeting people, just because the took the time to come to see him. And he never refused to sign an autograph or shake a hand unless he just couldn't stop as he would be late or cause a riot. And I'm going to restate as many times as possible that he had only the prescribed amounts of medicine in his body at his death-NOT enough of any of them to cause his death and he did not commit suicide and that he had a nurse preparing little packets of his medications that were doled out to him just when he was supposed to take them-he didn't have to deal with keeping track of everything and remembering when to do it that way. And that his step brothers-Ricky and David were in charge of him getting those packets when he was supposed to have them- that he gave them that job because he wanted them to know that he believed they were "clean" after they had been caught with forged prescriptions and with drugs not theirs. In placing this trust in them, he was proving to them that he believed their promise to stay "clean". (I can say these things because they mentione this in their books-that he came to the police station to get them and they had to sit on the side of his bed while he lectured them and he told them he believed they would not let him down again and to prove it, he later had them taking care of his prescription medications.) They also said they continued to mess with drugs but he didn't know it. And they were so sorry now and wished they could tell him so. I think someone switched some of his medications around and that's why he was having so much trouble off and on-getting the wrong thing and having bad reactions. Some of his medication was worth more on the street than other's and look alikes could have been put in and Elvis wouldn't have paid any attention to that-afte all, would they hurt him? They were his brothers after all, he loved them. Could also be why he hurt so much, what they took was stronger and replaced with weaker or maybe not even for pain? I wonder about that-and I couldn't believe he had done that-didn't know it until after his death. That was like leaving the fox in the hen house and hoping he's not hungry! whew...that man, he tried so hard and got trampled on so often. wjh Yes I wish I could say that too, but I can't do that. darn it.

Postby Wanda June Hill » Fri Aug 18, 2006 12:46 am

I plan to have with me copies of the reports from the toxicology places, reports that state what his doctors (not dr. Nick) about him being off everything except just what he needed to stay alive in those last two years and what the autopsy says about his2 or 3 heart attacks before the one that killed him and about the compression fractures of his spine. His liver problems, kidney failure problems and his colon. I am also going to mention the fact that he was in great pain from his back those last few weeks, his little girl was there for the summer break and to be able to play with her and take her to ride the Pippin he chose to take prescribed, regualr pain pills instead of using the liquid pain killers he had been addicted to in the past. I will say also that he probably didn't think about the fact that the pain pills might cause his colon to block up. He just wanted to spend time with his little girl, making her happy and being with her while he could. I know this is all a lot to say but I'm sure that there will be places it can be said. I had lots of those before and I said a lot of things no one was saying at that time. Then Larry, Kathy, Ed Parker and a few others began saying the same things I said in 77 & 78. And more and more of them are saying those things now...I'm not alone or so "crazy' after all. wjh

More questions, Wanda:

- Did you know about Elvis' illness before his death? Did he ever talk to you about it?

- How it goes that his family speaks about precription drug abuse as the cause of his death, to the present day?

- Why do you write such a book about Elvis Presley, if he wanted to keep your friendship kind of secret and why do you think he wanted it like this?

- Do Priscilla or Lisa Marie know about your book? Are you in touch with them?

- How was Elvis as a friend?

- What did you want to accomplish writing this book?
