question for Wanda

Postby AJ on Tue Jan 17, 2006 9:33 am

Did you know Ellen Foster?

I'm just trying to establish if she was "for real" or just another myth.

Thank you.

Burial

Were you at the visitation or funeral, Wanda?

I'm also trying to understand Elvis not being buried beside his mother as he wanted. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks .

Hi, No we watched on tv-too many people there and chances of getting to speak to anyone I knew would be slim to none. His family had more than enough to deal with.{quotes}
I think it is the custom for the husband to be next to the wife/and followed by children. I really don't know-but Elvis would have wanted all of them to be together-including his brother Garon which was his idea at the time.

I can't say I know Ellen Foster though it's a familiar sounding name. 25 years of "stuff" has made it harder to recall some things, I don't want to say I don't know her but I can't say I do either, at this point in time. There are many, many people who knew Elvis in some way or another, for a "recluse" he sure got around. Most of the ones we've heard from tell great stories of their meetings or time spent with him and I believe them, after all, my own story is like some kind of fairy tale too! And it happened so who am I to judge them? Nope, won't do that-as long as their stories are not knocking him as a human being or his talent-then I draw a heavy line! He was kind, decent, forgiving, shy and understanding when all around him people were picking him a part...how he did it, I don't know. Thanks for your interest, Wanda June

Thanks, Wanda.......

Did you get to know any of the Memphis Mafia?

Can't say I like any of them--or their stories.

Seems Lisa wasn't too fond of them either.

[quote=Wanda] I didn't try to know any of them, I liked Allan Fortas because he was nice, and that was about it.
I wasn't around them much, the few times I did have any kind of "talk" was not pleasant (when trying to see Elvis when he had extended an invatation to "come up stairs" in Vegas) they said " he doesn't want to see you." The few times I was at his house, I tried to stay in the background. Elvis didn't introduce me to anyone either; I didn't care. He didn't seem to either. [quote]
