JESUS, THE CHRIST-by Elvis
People think Jesus was runnin' around with 12 poor bastards, wearin' rags and eatin' grasshoppers, ya know whatcha call 'em...eh..locusts... yeah. But they were a kind of grasshopper really...'n they didn't have nothin' to eat but them. They (people) say well, now He said a rich man can't get into Heaven 'cause a camel can't get through a hole in a needle! But what-what He really said was a rich man has to struggle jus' as hard maybe as a poor one, to be Christian...to practice love, care and honor in their lives. We all supposed to love one another, to care about what happens to us all and to honor ourselves by havin' a code of ethics to live by-includin' honorin' one's parents....not to say all parent's are worth that privilege of bein' honored by anybody. Like they sayin' Jesus was poor...he was the son of a carpenter an' back then they were in big demand an' got good wages for it, makin' charriots an' so forth too. An' Jesus went to the best schools, was smart enough to talk to the elders in the Temple an' be noted for havin' good sense. He wasn't a little bitty guy either 'cause people could see him above crowds when he was walkin' in among them. An' he had good clothes 'cause the soldiers who was guardin' the cross where Jesus was hangin' cast lots over his robes on account of they were well made and good material. Didn't have any seams neither to tear it evenly- Ya know, I asked tailor one time if he could make me a coat with no seams in it an' he said it can't be done! But Jesus had one an it had no seams! The soldiers didn't want to rip it up or nothin' so they drew lots seein' who got it. Ya know, the guy who did went an' killed his self a few hours later on account of the deep feelin's he was getting off that robe! See, when you take off somethin' you been wearin' a lot, some of your vibration stays with it a time an' that's what was happenin back then. Jesus had apowerful aura an' it was there in his robes.
Now Jesus was a Magi..a magician filled with the Holy Spirit 'cause he took a few loaves of bread and some fish an' made enough out of that to feed a multitude of people who come to see his show...eh... to hear him talk. Then he turned water into wine-never endin' flow for people to drink. An' he could tell what was gonna happen on account of havin' highly developed senses, bein' tuned in to what is out there in the ethers... He knew he'd be killed before he came, but he came anyway-he had a purpose and he had to fulfill it as it played out. That was the plan. So he was tall and he had money, people noticed him in a crowd and he was a good lookin' guy on account of women flocked to him, wantin' to follow him, and he had a woman friend named Mary Magdalene who used to be a-a-woman of---of poor reputation but Jesus told her, come with me an' don't do that sh.. any more! An' she washed and dried his feet with her hair to let him know she was grateful...an' he let her do it be-because she needed to do somethin' for him to let him know how she felt. Here she was about to get stoned an' he saved her an' took her with him so she'd be safe. "n when he was killed, she stayed with his mother an' they comforted each other...so it all worked out. Jesus was a forgivin' man, his guys the disciples let him down, didn't protect him or nothin' an' then couldn't stop 'em from takin' him to the cross. An' when he came back after 3 days - went an' found them, came in so they could see him and let them know it was him an' he forgave them but they had to go do what they were supposed to do which was take the gospel into all the lands. That's why we have different religions too, 'cause they were all of different backgrounds, so they each wrote things how they saw them...similar but different. Over time the Bible has been formed the same way, had lots of writers doin' it and it got turned the way each of 'em think. But it all says the same thing...so we can figure it out if we study it some. So really, Jesus was a good lookin' , wealthy, educated guy an' so people paid attention and listened to him-an't that's what happens today as well...except Jesus was an honorable loving man and stood out for his feelings and his beliefs on account of his good heart. An' he was despised and talked about by the jealous and the ugly natured of the human race. Still goin' on- we haven't learned nothin' yet, seems like. When I'm gone from this body 'um gonna be with Jesus an' have the full armor of God surroundin' me...Lord, Lord! Gawd! Oh "Happy Day!"

Simple, direct and straight to the point...that's our guy. wjh
Please jump down to the post right after this one and read about Mary Magdalene and an "update" on her reputation etc:.

JESUS---THE CHRIST, by Elvis 1974
Wanted people to see this as it got "sent to the back" at the same time I was posting it I think!! That happens some times.
SO BRINGING IT BACK UP FOR ANOTHER ROUND. Go back up to read.
Maia just clued me in on something! The Catholic Church finally confessed that Mary Magdalene was NOT a "woman with a poor reputation" and they made that up eons ago! Elvis would/is glad to know that I'm sure! He was very taken with Jesus' forgiveness abilities and tried to be that way himself. wjh

I love Elvis' use of "magician" here. Of course, he meant the real kind; not the ones using parlor tricks. Jesus said that whatever he could do we could do also. He was trying to show us a way to be set free from the hell of this world. But sadly, insitutionalized religious systems have lost site of that over the centuries. People have become too focused on the external church, when Jesus tried to tell us that the kingdom of God is WITHIN us! Hopefully in our time, his Spirit (the Comforter) & revelation will make a greater comeback into the hearts of people. Think about it, we would never have to worry about having enough to eat, or having money to buy food if we all knew how to supernaturally receive from our heavenly Father/Mother's storehouse.

I thought that too, when I read it. That those words fit him to a T but then he would never ever consider that he even remotely came close to Jesus in anything and was always "trying" to be a better person his whole life. He did feel that Jesus was a perfect role model for everyone, not just men etc: and he revered other's whom he thought were more like him than himself. Of course Elvis standard for himself was nearly unreachable which kept him in "line" as he put it, so he wouldn't get the "big head" and be unable to wear his hats or get through the door.
He forgot one thing though, he got the "big heart" and maye had trouble buttoning his shirts? wjh

Amen, Laurie. Thank you for reminding us.
Wanda, thanks so much for bringing this up again for us to see. How beautiful a lesson! Honestly, I have to say Elvis is more interesting than most ministers, and seems to have a much deeper grasp of true Christianity. I can see why he thought he might have had a "calling." He answered that calling in many ways, even if he never went to seminary.
Mari, I also saw a lot of Elvis in Elvis's description of Jesus, too. It's the simple truth that enlightened minds DO resemble enlightened minds...it's all light! So let's forgive ourselves for these controversial thoughts, okay?
Always a great pleasure talking with you all.

What A BEAUTIFUL BIBLE STORY! I have always said that if I had Childern that I would what them to have Elvis as a Role Model, and I don't blame you all one bit for saying that Elvis and Jesus were alike. Because of his Loving and Caring Heart! Thanks Wanda! FairyTale!

I put his words in F.to F, and thought it should be posted too-I think somewhere I talked about our conversation along the same line, his wanting a coat like Jesus' with no seams and how Jesus wasn't poor etc: and that he Elvis, wanted a whole mansion in heaven-not just a room in one etc:...he had some really good insight into Bible stories and could come up with insights that I totally missed and wouldn't have even considered...but he "got it" so easily. Of course he did study such things and apparently had always been interested in ancient history-even as a school student and he liked history class best-he said. He was good in English, but you'd never know it except when he was in the spotlight and wanted to make a good impression and look "educated" because he was called a dumb hick etc: so often. He had good command of the language though he didn't think so, and thought others had so much more "learnin'" than he did. I told him he was by far more educated than I was and I didn't see him as being dumb at all. He said, "Well, I ain't dumb...I can speak...but I ain't real smart because I'm ...slow to catch on." Then said, sayin' someone is dumb means they can't talk for one reason or other-you know that don't you? Then he used the word dumb in several ways and the only one I remember is "You can be "struck dumb" by fear, surprise or disease...or born so, understand?" And then he made me laugh saying, "An' I ain't never been no dumb one since I been little bitty." He was being silly and we both laughed at him. I miss him. wjh

Thanks, everyone, for the conversation!
Joanna, it's so nice to see you back again! I smiled reading about how you could hear him saying this in your mind. (Lucky you! )
Wanda, one thing that's made me sincerely happy is that in all my readings of Elvis biographies, almost everyone who knew him agrees that he wasn't just a little bit smart, he was VERY intelligent. I wish he could've known that he'd get credit for it.
For example, filmmaker Bob Abel said: "Elvis had incredible native intelligence, the ability to read a human being, to watch someone's eyes and look inside their soul."
Even when talking about dumbness, he made some remarkable insights on all the meanings of the word! Thanks so much for sharing that, Wanda!
