Little things that Elvis read

E: Readin' a book of sayings, some of them I like. Linda gave it to me and we was reading some each morning to start the day off good...before she left for N.Y. that modeling job, ya know.
W: Poems?
E: "And ever has it been that love knows not it's own depth until the hour of separation." (His voice is so soft, dramatic as he speaks the words.)
W: Nice, and pretty correct.
E: Um-mmmm, "For in the dew of little things, the heart finds its morning and is refreshed." Good one...
W: True...that's all the book is, one liners?
E: Some times one line is all it takes...to make a point.
W: Okay...
E: This one's for you... "A friend's soul will keep the truth of your heart, as the taste of the wine is remembered when the color is forgotten and the vessel is no more." (His voice drops almost to a husky whisper.)
W: Sweet...thank you.
E: I like this one, it's true. "Better to pray in the full joy and love of spirit,if you pray for no other purpose than asking, you shall not receive."
E: This one hurts... "For what heart as leapt with dreams and pleasures of love only to flutter painfully in the chest as the sharp closure of a door awakens the dreamer to the reality of a cold, baren bed in the middle of the night."
W: Hit's home, does it? I hardly think so!
E: More baren and cold than filled with pleasures...
W: Uh-huh...not because it has to be. I know that boy!
E: (Giggles) Haven't been with no female now for goin' on 3 weeks-believe it or not. Just been keepin' busy reading, talking with people an' playin' music, 'n that's the truth.
W: Got your fingers crossed behind your back?
E: (Laughs) See, she don't believe me niether...none of 'em do an' what'd I do to be treated this way? Huh Dog, do you know? Ma dog says he believes me...he
s been here-he knows the truth.
W: Yeah, well put him on the phone, I'll ask him.
E: (Laughs) You would-'n he'd probably answer! Damn it, really, hasn't been anyone here but me now for quite a while...didn't want to be bothered wtih...eh...havin' to take care of anyone an' keep them company and entertained...needed some rest, time alone, ya know. Do every so often. Man, I get tired of havin' to to-be him... um just me now and I'm gettin' sick of me too...an' if I wait too much longer gonna be jumpin' on the first chick comes through the door! (laughs) That's what you wanted to hear-huh?
W: Well, that sounds like the guy I know...
E: (Laughs) Lord-lord-never ends! Gawd...um gettin' way too old for this!
W: So if that's true, you are being faithful to Linda?
E: (Snickers) Lord! Could it be? Faithful? Oh no, not that! Yeah...um bein' faithful to Linda...hard to fathum huh?
W: I think it's kind of nice...if it's true.
E: Well, think what you will, but I'm waitin' for her but she damn well better be gettin' back here this week or it ain't gonna last. I'm not used to waitin'... (laughs)
W: Oh good grief! Did you promise?
E: She didn't ask me to...she told me to see some one else if I wanted to because she didn't want me to be here and be lonely.
W: She loves you.
E: I know, 'n won't be no other woman here, really.
W. Really?
E: (Chuckles softly), More 'n really. She's worth it. Sides I threw away ma little black book-burned it too. So I'd have to start all over...too much trouble...Naw, really.

He sure hit the nail on the head when he said the above quote was for you. You have kept the truth of his heart even though, "'the vessel is no more'".

Me too, girls!

Once again, the magic about Elvis, clicks. Everything is taking its place, as time is passing by.

And Wanda, you have the Key of that Heart, of that part of Heart he wanted you to keep. You are using it, expossing the Treasure with love and care, as Elvis anticipated.

We are here, receiving that gift in our hearts, with love and care too. God grant that we'd be able to let his resonance expand to others hearts!

The vessel is no more

Postby Wanda June Hill » Wed Jun 28, 2006 8:51 pm

You know, I had not thought about that line, the meaning of it until I read your posts-I am dense, I guess or just need someone's take on things as I'm too close to the subject, maybe that's it. Whatever, it gave me chills to read through someone else's eyes and thoughts.
It was almost as if some one touched my heart and soul because I had never thought of those words pertaining to anything but as a they were written, wine long gone and nothing left but the broken aged keg...to put it in terms of the human vessel...wow...I am feeling very humble. And a little overwhelmed somewhat too, that
questioning I have about him, how did he know, did he know and why did he know...if he knew...that sounds crazy but it boils down why choose me? If he did. Or is this a simple part of fate...karma...chance...well, I don't want to go there-it takes way too much energy and it never ends. I think the answer will be when I am once again where he is and I can ask if I don't know by then.
He always just said, "I just knew"...and he'd manage to get around explaing how he "just knew" in his usual style of charming the birds from trees...etc: and I never did get any kind of answer from him... he just knew. Now I'm beginning to sound crazy as well. wjh

Wanda, as I see it, you don't have to worry a bit. You just has to be YOU. I'm sure Elvis counted on it. 8)

As for his way of "knowing", I can only add that people that get used to listen to their hearts, develop a kind of confidence in what they are doing, understanding it fully or not. They "trust" themselves, and that's all.

We all have this capacity, but we seldom use it, because we are not educated in this direction. The education we usually receive goes exactly in the opposite line of things. It parts from the past experiences only, with fears and traumas included. It's useful but has to be equilibrated with our inner sense, intuition, creative thinking, etc. that is the result of putting toghether the two hemispheres of the brain...and something else.

I have to stop myself, because I could not end...!

YOU KNOW THERE ISN'T TO MANY MEN, THAT WOULD READ SOME OF THE THINGS THAT ELVIS READ. LIKE POEMS I MYSELF LOVE TO READ, AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A TRULY WONDEFUL EXPERIENCE TO HAVE ELVIS READ TO ME. FAIRYTALE!
WITHOUT A SONG THE DAY WOULD NEVER END, WITHOUT A SONG A MAN AIN'T GOT A FREIND, WITHOUT A SONG. SO I KEEP ON SINGING A SONG.

little black book

Postby Wanda June Hill » Sat Jul 22, 2006 3:58 pm

Hi just read the auction news and they were putting up his little black book-Elvis had so many little black books-I wonder which one it will be? An early one or later? He said people were always giving him "little black books" because they figured he could use a new one-and I believe that he said the black ones were one thing, but it was the "red one" that counted...and he laughed. So it amused me to read on here again that he "threw away ma little black book" and too much trouble to start over. Yeah-right. Still it was nice that he was 'being faithful to Linda' and I believe at the time he certainly was doing that... he wouldn't have said so otherwise. wjh

Little Things...

Postby Wanda June Hill » Mon Nov 13, 2006 6:43 pm

While at Suzy's I read The Prophet and found most of the things that Elvis read of the one liners book Linda gave him, came from that book. No wonder he liked it.
Including the one he read for me, it was very nice to read it there and to understand that he knew it came from that book...he practically had it memorized.
Elvis gave her that book and she is giving it to me when ever I want to take a box up and collect them-I just hate to take her books while she still might want to read them. wjh
