Well Lighthouseseeker, she could. It was included in those I sent back there-to his father and to Lisa when she got older. I don't have any idea where they are-I only know they were signed for and no one ever responded to my later contacts other than signing for the certified letter etc:. So....that's all I can do. I sent just about everything I have to them and to Elvis when he was here-14 cassetes and 1 long 8 track...full of things-conversations, him mainly, I cut me out as much as I could without ruining what he was saying. and he had all the interview stuff-even those "raunchy tales" he told me at the end-where he just let it go and we laughed our selves silly...he was not really vulgar...he was just telling it as it happened and yes, it was pretty explicit but that's what happened and he wasn't being vulgar or dirty or anything, just merely telling things that women and girls and others too , had done to get to him and had done after catching him...he did a lot of running he said, but sometimes , "even I get tired and just want to lay down and get it over with" one comment that just about caused a riot we laughed so much..he was so silly and so naive and innocent of trying not to be vulgar or obscene or anything.... I sent all that too-unedited-to him. who knows where it could be now-maybe packed up in some of his stuff, someday to be uncovered and there it will be...wonderful new Elvis for new fans. wjh

Thank you Wanda for sharing this with us. Elvis loved his precious baby daughter so much, and this conversation brings it home to us; makes it even more real, as if we are listening in on another line!

Thank you, Wanda, for that wonderful piece of Elvis with his Lisa! He was so openhearted, sweet and loving... that made me smile, laugh and cry.
I always fell for men that were sweet and tender to children and animals, right from my childhood. I rendered my heart to them inmediatly. That aspect of Elvis, added to others we already know, would have had me absolutely in love with him. Well, I was, indeed, and only out of "feeling him". Imagine if I knew! What a blast!

Quote: ( Now he's trying to get her to go back to sleep, telling her she is a "faker" and giggling that squeaky Elvis laugh, calling her his precious little doll, saying daddy 'oves her so, yes he does, much 'n more, 'oves his little cutie one, does, oh her precious one her is, her little daddy 'oves her, does much. Close your eyes, close your eyes. He laughs softly and giggles again, then I hear him picking up the phone.)
I have a tape copy of this little bit..his voice is so full of LOVE, and he has very gentle laughter, not the more robust kind we usually hear from him.

Hi Maia, yes that is from this one, and so much clearer than the original now-but gosh, it is old and a very old well used tape to start with! It's bleeding through alot and fortunately, I "speak" (spoke) his language back then so I can get most of it. My dad and brother thought it was "worthless" -they couldn't hear him much at all! Okies. I woke up during the lightening and thunderstorm we had here and thought about a picture that I have seen in some book somewhere-of Elvis laying on the bed (it's got his favorite color of (to me) sickly green spread and he's got little baby lisa laying on his chest sleeping. He looks like he might have been sleeping or about to, when he looks up at whomever is taking the picture-probably Priscilla as she was a camera buff-he said...loved taking them and having her's taken...
that's a given-there are millions of pictures of her too---
out there. Most of them good-unlike some of Elvis that aren't so good-thanks to the Col.'s choices. Anyway, has anyone seen that picture? It's out there-and was in a book-which we have but is in the fire safe shed somewhere-that's like "never-never land" now since Starla packed the things up...and didn't make a list like I would have, so we'd know what was in the box! Anyway, you all are so good at finding pictures-I'm sure there will be one up soon! It so well would go with that 68 conversation too-him laying in bed holding his sleeping baby on his chest so she can hear his heart beating...and feel safe enough to sleep. She attached to him immediately-I wonder why.... yeah, right!
Oh, I am getting an e-picture of the book's front cover-so will e-mail it to one of you who can post it so Maia can see it and you all too. I know it's great-I've seen a tiny one but I asked for one big enough to really detail things in it. So, my "slave" John at Booksurge is doing it for me. I have two "slaves" there-Sean and John...and they "ain't twins". Wonder how that happened? wjh

Zey that one is better than the one I remember seeing and thought about-it's closer up and Elvis is more visable-the other one he is laying on the bed and it is further away so most of him is visable and the baby is laying on his chest-can't see her face hardly at all. This one is great, that big yawn right on his cheek...and he looks content- I think the reason not so many pictures of him with the baby is because he was taking the pictures of her and the baby...I can easily see him doing that-he loved taking pictures of Priscilla and now here she is with his baby! He must have been in "hog heaven" with that camera! The other pictures of him or the three of them are usually someone else-probably Joe the "unofficial" photo guy who took home movies etc; at every opportunity-thank heaven someone did! though. I like the one I saw of him with her on the horse and then of him in his yacht hat and carrying her with the cigar clenched in his teeth turned away from her as far as he could do it-he had her in one arm and her bag of stuff in the other hand. Marching down the dock-then in another picture she was carrying Lisa coming along behind him and he's just looking like the "capitan" of the group...and he looks so fine too. The picture that always sticks in my mind is the one taken in late 76, Lisa is standing beside him, he's sitting on the coffee table and she has her arm a round him so protectively and their backs are to the camera person. He's sitting there and even from back view he looks tired out...That one just really got to me the first time I saw it...it still does so I don't look at it except in my mind now and then. wjh
Oh I am trying to find someone to e-mail this picture to of the book cover-but don't have an e-mail address and can't p m it. I have one or to e=mail addresses but seem to have misplaced that piece of paper-I wonder why- First one I get who wants to post the cover up to see it, I'll send it post haste. Thanks.

they aren't many pics of elvis and lisa together and alone just the both i guess Lisa must have all the pics of his daddy with her and probably she just want to keep them for private because i usually see elvis or priscilla with camera.
i put the pics of elvis with lisa and priscilla cause there are pics of the 3 when lisa was a baby here some time ago elvislightedcan-about419.html i love the way elvis look his baby so proud.
And i have some other pics of him with his baby (i don't know if this is the pic you are talking about wanda)

Those are great pictures-I had not seen any of them! The one at the front door of Graceland is so cute, that doll Lisa has! And Elvis wearing those belts at home too-that looks like the one he had on when he came to our room at the hotel and took it off, dropped it on the floor and my girlfriend spent the whole time hugging it while her eyes were glued on Elvis! That belt had some blue in it-can't tell if that one does or not-but it was white, black with some blue sets in the design and had the gold chains. Lisa looks like she's decked out for the 4th of July! And she's so pleased her daddy is holding her in that night shot and he's showing her off at the gates I would bet! Pris didn't like him to take her down there-but that's understandable. There were always some crazies around now and then. And Elvis has on that wedding ring-it's reflecting the light like a beacon. He wore it all the time the first couple of years-just taking it off for films and then right back on. wjh
