From my own experience of live Elvis concerts: the feeling I got when he looks right and into me, no words can express. It was not "sexy" or "exciting". It was beyond that. It made me feel complete.

I think you are right.
Of course I have never seen him preform 'live', and I only know his preformances from DVD. But I've never found his preformances to be 'sexy', although I've always thought that he looked great. But I wouldn't exactly describe him as sexy. I'd rather say he's beautiful. Whenever I see him preform I feel he's radiating an incredibly engery of love.

You write that he 'looks into you'. I get the same impression when I listen to him. I feel his voice surrounding me, in a familiar and comforting way.

Yes, this look transcends any kind of ground level emotion/feeling in relation to Elvis ie not 'sexy' or 'exciting' etc but relates the deeper look between two souls on the spiritual path.

I can only guess how I would have felt if I had actually seen Elvis in Person on stage....
But as I watch him in TTWII or ON TOUR I feel pretty much as Maia expressed above.
Just "sexy" or "exciting" is nothind compared to what Elvis did and does. It cannot be described. When I had seen TTWII for the very first time , I wanted to convey in my diary what had happened with me, but words failed me.

YOU KNOW CHRISTINE, I HAVE NEVER REALLY LOOKED AT ELVIS AS BEING SEXY. O YES HE IS SO GOOD LOOKING, BUT I HAVE ALWAYS LOOKED AT ELVIS FROM THE INSIDE. O YES I WOULD BE THE FIRST TO WHAT A TOUCH OR A KISS FROM HIM, BUT I WOULD REALLY WHAT TO CONNECT TO THE REAL ELVIS THE MAN NOT THE IMAGE. BARB!

Yes, I feel the you all are so right. Maybe it is related to being recognised at soul level, which is something that rarely happens in a lifetime.

Can relate to what all of you say here and that is indeed maybe part of or all of that something else we usually can't explain or describe away in whole to other people when we try and speak of our love of Elvis?

Something about wanting to connect with who he was at a deeper soul level, who he was as a person inside not the image that was on show. Yes that is a real true and rare quality seen in a lifetime as Amanda mentioned.

Elvis has a special quality and something beyond but if anyone of us could be able to name what that was, it might be possible to create another Elvis for the world - as it is, no way! Elvis retained and had something BEYOND explanation, description or mere understanding!!
