Hi Wanda,

Thank you for writing back to me. It reminded me how kind you were to respond to my letters many, many years ago.

Just like you, I've been trying to understand the computer. Somehow my brain and the computer dosen't always work too well.

My partner and I did decide to go to the self-publishing route. At least we do have say so to what to put in and what not to put in. My partner's name is Michael Best. He was born on June 1, 1979. Through this project, he has been learning alot about Elvis. He wants to learn more about Elvis.

It's hard to explain to you, but there has been times when I feel guilty by doing this project. I feel like I'm making money off Elvis. That's not our goal. It's uncomfortable feeling. Through this project, it's getting to know the fans. But still ... does that make sense?

I'll be glad to send you a copy of our book. That's no problem! It's possible that our books will be out at the same time. Please remember! As soon as you give me more details, I'll pass the words to others about your book. It's so important for the fans to get know the real Elvis.

Making money off of Elvis? Please! E woulda handed you the money start to finish to publish your book. If you are spreading your combined light (Elvis included) then you are not profiteering in any way. I personally wouldn't want you living poorly out of guilt. There is plenty of wealth to go around. The love in your book is worth infinitely more than a paper note of currency, correct? The money will flow and go, but the experience you are having from this one thing you can treasure for lifetimes!

Yes, I know I'm not Wanda. But, I thought I'd add to all this. Elvis didn't live to make people feel guilty.

I know exactly what you are feeling about "making money off Elvis"-been there even though we didn't make money the first time, but I still have misgivings though I think it is time to get as much out there as possible while we who were alive, thinking and able while he was here and know what we're talking about-should do what we can to get some dignity and truth out there because he has certainly been drug through the mud enough and I for one, am sick and tired of hearing people who don't have a clue about the guy parroting away as if they do. I like to hear Lisa talk because she is quite a bit like her daddy-she's a bit more "right out there" where he was more reserved in public, but that's her age group's thing and normal for her. She has heart like he did though, because she gives those guys who were supposed to be taking care of him, a way out by saying, "they just didn't notice" and maybe they didn't-sometimes you have to take a few steps back to see what's right in front of you, and in their case, Elvis was just too overwhelming, I guess. They couldn't see the man for the glitz and hype...and too, he wanted to be strong for everyone-after all, they depended on him to take care of them-and he knew it. Elvis wouldn't care if we "make money" off of him-he would just say, okay, get it on baby... And as I said, those of us who were so fortunate to have breathed the same air with him, better get it on-before we're too old to remember! That would be unforgivable and a great loss for future fans.
