The Infinite Way - Joel Goldsmith

Postby Rainbow Light » Tue May 08, 2007 3:41 pm

Have had this on book loan from Fran for a little while so it will be going back in post tomorrow but just wanted to post a few spiritual quotes from this most wise and spiritually inspired volume from the soul!:

'When confronted with any human problem, instead of laboring for an improved human condition, turn from the picture and realise the presence of the divine Spirit in you. This Spirit dissolves the human seeming and reveals spiritual harmony, though to sight this harmony will appear as improved human health or wealth. When Jesus fed the multitude, it was his spiritual consciousness of abundance that appeared as loaves and fishes. When he healed the sick, it was his feeling of the divine Presence that appeared as health, strength and harmony.

This may all be summed up in Paul's words:

"Set your affection on things above, not on things of the earth" '.

"To live spiritually is to know that all is; then do not name, label, define, or judge what is. Be content to know IS, and let what IS reveal Its being, nature, and character to you."

"The cool, clear water of the well of contentment within refreshes you with the assurance that joy already IS. 'Peace, be still'"

"Go to God as an empty vessel, desiring fulfillment in God's way and measure"

"We live in Him. In Him alone we find our completeness and perfection. Apart from Him we are as trees uprooted from the ground - as waves separate from the sea".

It is one of the books that Elvis read so just thought others within ELC would like to read some quotes, hope you enjoy the above!

You're very welcome and glad you both enjoyed reading the above quotes!

Everything that you have posted has sure been completely in tune with things going on in my life right now and has been excellent nourishment for my very soul.

Makes me extra specially glad I posted the quotes from this beautiful book and it's great to know they were of help and nourishment for your soul with what's been going on in your life right at this time!

With Elvis having enjoyed reading this book, I wonder if it was my 'choice' to post it or was it a 'guided' decision, who knows?! :?:

I like very much the quotes you posted Sue, and can see why Elvis would have liked having this book on hand. I feel inspired to add it to my wish list of books I'd like to get. I hope it's still available.

It behooves one to sense God as dwelling within each of us, rather than as some distant entity, far above and seemingly beyond our reach.

From a book that belonged to Elvis: The Buddhist Tradition" Underlined by him-

"A husband should serve his wife in five ways: By honoring her; by respecting her; by remaining faithful to her; by giving her charge of the house; and by duly giving her adornments. A wife should care for her husband in five ways: she should be efficient in her household tasks; she should manage her servants well; she should be chaste; she should take care of the good which he brings home and she should be skillful and untiring in all her duties.
A gentleman should serve his friends and counselors in five ways: by generosity; by courtesy;by helping them; by treating them as he would himself; by keeping his word to them. They should care for him in five ways: they should protect him when he is careless; they should guard his property on such occasions; they should be a refuge from him in trouble; in misfortune they should not leave him and they should respect members of his family.
(Further down he has underlined:) A gentleman should by affectionate acts, affectionate words and thoughts care for his friends; by not closing his door to them and by duly supplying them with food. Thus served by a gentleman they should care for him in six ways: they should restrain him from evil; they should encourage him to do good; they should feel for him with a friendly mind; they should teach him what he has not heard before; they should encourage him to follow what he has already learned; and they should show him the way to heaven. (He has penciled in Amen)

When you practice good and restrain from evil, your mind will be sincere. EP

We are very much inspired by what comes from Elvis, specially through your phone conversations, Wanda, Image or else, like in in this case.

Yet, we learn not only from his certainty, but also from his perplexities as a human being. Image
