Through someone else's eyes

Postby Raina » Thu Feb 22, 2007 6:56 pm

A poem I'd like to share with you. I wrote it a minute ago, hopefully without to many spelling mistakes.

Through someone else's eyes

Funny how things just fall in place
What I needed I received in countless ways

God sure was gracious and very kind too
For letting me share a little time with you

The Lord must have noticed me crying so much
For he send me an angel to restore my trust

A little girl crying so very afraid
Hopeing and praying God didn't hate

With my vision so blurred the fear taking it's toll
At times wishing never to be born at all

Then you passed my way and held me close
Thaught me the beauty of every rose

All of them hurted at one point in their lives
It's their beauty unfolding that stung like a knive

Now they are glowing like beaming with joy
They could not have been if it wasn't for love

Their being came from that very same Source
That's guiding them to become, only Love

Remember that Love guides us to be true
And God will walk every mile with you

Such a blessing it is learning of life
Just from looking, through someone else's eyes

How much I can relate to

Postby 73smile » Thu Feb 22, 2007 9:59 pm

Your words are closely joining with some incidents in my past and in my present. I have been blessed with two beautiful and healthy grandsons. It is a wonder to 'understand' the world through their eyes. It is, sometimes, a strong feeling of renewal when I am with Gavin because he sees things as all brand new. I know that the ONE above allows for all of us to experience both pain and happiness and all in-between.
The ELC family is special for me because it does not judge and it does not ridicule, but instead it has compassion that is lacking so clearly in too many residing here, in this time, on planet earth.
I do believe that the ONE above gives us tools to enable us to 'know' that we are surrounded by his loving light and that we are protected from fear and that is such a relief.
Thank you for expressing, in your words, what is felt by many here and in other places. I can see in the words that you wrote the pain freeing the writer and the light is there with its sheltering light in the end.

Mystic, that was so beautiful!! Wow, we have another poet in the ELC family. Clearly this came out of your very soul and being. Thank you for shaing. Your description of a rose hurting as it's unfolding and then once unfolded beams with joy -- that is such a poetic description of what life can be like. In order to grow, we must stretch and go through pain, but if we hold on to God's love through it all, w/o resentment or bitterness, then we have that much more love & compassion to give to others.

It behooves one to sense God as dwelling within each of us, rather than as some distant entity, far above and seemingly beyond our reach.

Thank you everyone  I love poetry, to read and when I can, write a bit myself.

Muma, Grongradulations with your grandsons!! I remember when I first held my nephew, he was so tiny, and when I first looked into his eyes they were not all blue but seemed to be a little gold aswell!

And, I can see why the ELC family is special to you....

Krishnalini, My first language is Dutch... :D My English is not all that good realy. But I try to spell correct aspecially while writting a poem!

I did write this from my heart I guess, lost track of time while writting this. Thought I did it within a few minutes, but it took me almost an hour!

Again thank you everyone....I enjoy reading your poetry aswell, don't always know what to reply, besides, beautiful! And I don't want to appear a parrot, repeating the same over and over., cuz I don't know what else to say hehe

Hallo Amanda! :D

That transelation tool you used got it almost right!

Ohh so does your husband speak Dutch?
I don't live in Amsterdam, about two hours away from there. As you probably know it takes like 4 hours or so to cross this country hehe
So not that far away! I was in Amsterdam not too long ago by the way. Lots to see there, too much somethimes :P

You are Spanish right? Ofcourse it is a great mixture, pretty much everything mixed with Spanish turns out pretty hehe

Knuffel, en kusjes terug!! (Hug and kisses back) :D

Hallo, Mystic!

There was a time, many, many years ago, when I could follow a conversation in Dutch, understanding its meaning. I could go alone by Amsterdam or other places and be able to say the essential to buy or to ask advice when I got lost. But I have forgotten almost everything I learnt, because I didn't have opportunity to speak Dutch often enough. My husband then (now dwelling in a better dimension) spoke many languages and didn't feel the need to talk with me in Dutch.

pretty much everything mixed with Spanish turns out pretty hehe

This is a quite flattening comment. But I like to read it! :P Probably you are right because Spanish people are ourselves a great MIXTURE of cultures and races. It seems like since ancient times, everybody passed by what now is considered Spain! I like to think that we got the best of them all (and probably the worst too. )

Hallo Amanda!

Ohh so did you not use a transelation tool for writting in Dutch in your previcious post?

Too bad you forgot much of it though, but if you'd like I could help you remember some of it! hehe.

When I was younger I could speak a little Spanish but I forgot aswell, for the same reason as you have

Spanish people are a mixture of many cultures and races, yes.
In our national anthem we refere to Germany and Spain aswell. :

"Wilhelmus van Nassau I am from german blood" blabla

later on

"The King of Spain I have always honered"

It's quite confusing actually. Someone is gonne have to explain this to me one day.

Spain deffinatly has the best of everything! Spanish people are so pretty! 8)

Amanda, as I read your lines in Dutch for Mystic, I want to remind you that German is very much like Dutch. If people speak Dutch maybe I understand 40% of it, just because of the "sameness" of words and syntax...

It's nice, Mystic, that you told us. Carola (Blue Butterfly) is also from Netherlands! :)

I'll keep in mind your offer to practice. But I think Dutch is almost dead in my memory, maybe unable to be restored. But I'm a person of faith. :P :P

I knew of the similarities between the two languages, Christine. In the past it helped me to understand just a bit of German, some word now and then and some short sentences.

German and Dutch are indeed alike. Actually I like German, but never realy learnt the language. When I was in school I asked for lessons but they said it was too late... I would have had to catch up on two years. I was like: No problem Sir! Oh well perhaps they thought I was stupit or something.

Later on they tried to quiet me a bit since I was a little rebelious. Now that WAS to late! That were people with too much faith... Just kidding :P
