:hello: I don't think that Elvis was ever able to Handle Losing People he Loved, and that it did Leave a Big Hole in his Heart while he was here. But No More!

Hi, I was NOT the only one he shared his thoughts and feelings with- he had many friends, some male, some female and he had special relationships with all of them.
I just happened to be one he "chose" because it was certainly nothing that I did or could have done to rate his attention. Almost every one who worked in films with him speak of how nice, kind and funny he was around the sets. I've not heard one bad word though I know there are a few who didn't like him for one reason or another, and he accepted that graciously as well. Never believe that
I was the "only" one he confided with, certainly not! I do realize now that it was easier for him to "talk" if he didn't have to "see" whom he was talking with, he didn't have to hide his expressions, his feelings, and he didn't have to see the
reactions or lack of them, of whom he spoke with via telephone. He could be just himself as much as he wanted without having to "hide" that inner guy. When I understood that, it was easy to talk with him, easy to let him share his thoughts
and I tried not to interfere in whatever he was "into" at the time...just listen and
if he asked or I felt he expected a reply, then I would "keep it short". I had to learn that, it took a while. He even gently reminded me at first, and then I
finally realized if I shut up he would talk. And talk some more. Only in the last couple of years of his life did he share his heartaches, fears and skirted lightly over his health issues...only then did I realize how truly lonely he was, with all those around him, he still had not found that one person whom he could just be "me" and not worry about being Elvis. Maybe he was never meant to have that one person, he concluded that possibility also; the one he was most open with died, and he never got over it. Those were very "large shoes" to fill, but he kept looking, hoping someone was out there who "understands me...not just the image thing" he said. And he lamented there would never be anyone who
was meant just for him, saying it was too much and that even he had a "time
tryin' to make sense of it all". It is my thought that his fans, who never deserted him and who were always there when he needed them, filled those "shoes" to a great extent. After all, he said, "I feel alive out there...it's the only place I do." So take a look in your mirrors kids, you are the one (s)...
who gave him what he needed most... nonjudgmental love and devotion.

:hello: I was reading Larry Geller's Blog, and Elvis asked him if he ever thought Elvis would ever find his Soul Mate? Larry looked at Elvis and said I think you have, and Elvis said who is it? Larry told Elvis is those Fans of yours they are your Soul Mates, and Elvis Smiled and said Lawrence your Right and I wouldn't Chane it for the World.

:P Yes... probably Larry Geller was right. At least, what he said was a great consolation for Elvis... and that was a big deal!

this is a totally free download of the manuscript and everyone is invited to
read it for themselves, on their own computer. It is 496 pages w/ pictures
and stories from several people who met and spent time with Elvis over
several years of his life. This book will make you laugh, think, puzzle over,
cry and understand that Elvis was a human being, gifted, talented and also
a very caring and loving man. And that he loved his life, adored his fans
and did his very best to please everyone. And he did NOT die because of
a drug overdose-nor did he "cause" his death - rather he was in ill health,
had personal problems of an internal nature that he dealt with throughout
his lifetime, kept quiet so he could be ELVIS for all of us, and he lived his
life with love, kindness and laughter that he shared happily with his family,
friends and his beloved fans. I encourage you to take the time to read
and know the guy who became "the king of rock 'n roll" and "loved every minute of it" right to his last day. He was in ill health, but he still wanted
to do his job and entertain his fans... and he still is through his music and -
those "fims" funny and sometimes silly as they might be.
