Hi Wanda, just let you know that I luckily was able to get your first book which I enjoyed a lot. I like to wrote you some personal lines but I want it to do here. So I have two questions: How I can get in touch with you? Maybe over e-mail?

Second:

At the time Elvis was working in Las Vegas, also the real Mafia were very active there and owned a lot of casinos/Hotels. Did Elvis ever mentioned to you that he was aware of this or they took pressure over Col. Parker to him?
I ask because in some books I read one or another line about is, but very cautious and subtle. In your book "We Remember, Elvis", you wrote that one day Elvis warned you not to come anymore and it would be better for you. Do you think it could be for dangerous circumstances? This would explain to me why he always carried some weapons around him - even in concerts because he was afraid of the security of his family and for himself too? I think that there must be a more serious reason for to do so as his "friends" thought. Often they told about him to be "crazy" of his affection to weapons and that it was just for his drug input - what I don't believe.

I remember that one of his former bodyguards (Sam Thompson)told in a fan event a story of the Colonel. He accompied Col. Parker with another bodyguard of the group for lunch in a restaurant. Sitting down everybody and looking around, they notice on a table some men in dark suits and Parker told them that they were Mafiosi, letting them know he knew them.
Sam took this incident as Parker had snowed them and laught it away.

What do you think or know about this possibility?

I think it is a very real possibility; Elvis made a lot of money for Vegas, high rollers came ready to play and even touring he made a lot of "clean" money that could easily be used without "laundering". I don't know much about any of those type things, just what I've read and heard, and was told which was not a lot. Even Wayne Newton complained about being "taken over" etc and he got busted pretty good for his "opening his mouth". There were quite a few stranger men around Elvis who were NOT employees of his, when he was appearing in Vegas, this began after his first engagement; it's like blood in the water...the sharks "smell" it and come to take it over. Being the highest paid, biggest draw ever in Vegas or just about anywhere else, well...he wasn't bleeding literally but ...
Have a great day and stay warm...everyone in the southeast will be getting blasted with cold, snow and rain I just heard on the weather channel. We are at
41 degrees today-much warmer than a few days ago!
Love to all,
wjh

Hi Wanda, thank you for your opinion and answer.

But you didn't reply of my first question - of how I can get in touch with you.
I wanted proposed to do something to relieve the forum again, but never mind - I just let it go..

Have a nice day. :hello:

Sorry Angeleyes!!! I was too absorbed by the other question! You can email me any time wandajunehill@aol.com
I get quite a few emails because I have put this one "out there" on ELC. I answer people I know and others depending on content, etc, and of course would answer yours.
Have a great day-it's going to warm up some here finally! Every tree on the place has dropped leaves and some are totally naked! Usually we don't have quite as cold a weather but 21 is pretty cold and they immediately shed their leaves. We
had just spent several hours raking and tossing a bunch and now there are twice as many on the ground again! The horses love the mullberry leaves which are
good for them in small amts- so they will get a treat again today. They can eat
them once they have begun to dry and change color, but we do not give them many green ones due to possible stomach upset. We have 3 left-it's almost like
having none- I used to care for 9 horses all the time with an extra one at times.
And I also exercised and etc as well as feed and pick up. But I was younger and enjoyed them so much it was easy. Now days I am lucky to be able to pick up the broom and sweep off the porch...oh well, could be far, far worse!
Love always,
wjh

Hi Wanda, thanks again for your answer and let me know your mail-addy. Be sure I will write to you soon, but attention: it will be a long mail... :D

I'm sure a lot of people write to you - but my reason I like to do so too, is not because I'm "star-bucked" or a hanger-on to "celebrities"....

The reason of my wish you will know when I get in touch with you and you will understand.

Thank you for your confidence. :hello:

I sure hope never to be "star bucked" and never a "hanger's on to celebrities" either!!!
I had to laugh when I read that, heaven's even. No celebrity aura here at all!
Nor ever, would not enjoy that one bit! I look forward to your "long writing"
girl!
Love always,
wjh

Hi Barb, first at all a very happy year to you!

You know that my mom died before Christmas. On Tuesday was the urn burial and yesterday I was able to complete the dissolution of her apartment.

But now I need a little time to rest, but I will write soon again my special reports.

Great to read that your cat is in good health. Take care. :hello:
