Marlyn Mason, Dan Haggerty in UK, talk about Elvis: Two Hollywood stars who worked with Elvis on some of his movies shared secrets from the film set in East Lancashire last night.

Marlyn Mason, leading in lady in 'The Trouble With Girls' and Dan Haggerty, were part of a special charity show at King George’s Hall, Blackburn.
Marlyn Mason (right) worked with Elvis for 10 weeks on the 1969 movie and was immediately struck by the star’s charisma.
"You couldn’t help but fall in love with him," she said, "He was so handsome and such a nice person. He was a true star.
I had been in a play on Broadway and then was told I had got the part with Elvis. I wasn’t really a fan of his music so it wasn’t until we met on set that I fully appreciated the magic of the man.
Elvis had great comedy timing and it was easy to ad-lib with him. For instance one time I was off-camera, and it was to get a close-up reaction shot from Elvis. To get the right reaction I slowly started unbuttoning his shirt and taking his belt off. And Elvis was just giving me these hot looks. Well, that was exactly what the director wanted. Elvis just reacted as he should, he didn't stop the shoot to exclaim 'What are you doing?' Elvis just rolled with the whatever was happening! Elvis was so great to work with. That was the best ten weeks of my whole career"

Dan Haggerty also believes that Elvis was special.
"He was very kind to me and he had that aura about him which only the genuine stars possess," he said, "There was no big ego with him. He’d always have time to stop and say hello. The other thing that people don’t appreciate was that he was a wonderful actor, he was a very talented man."
Haggerty had many opportunities to get to know Elvis through their mutual friend Ann Margret. Dan built Ann's custom "chopper" motorcycle and spent a lot of time with her. They both socialised with Elvis in Las Vegas where Dan got to know him well. He also had an uncredited role in the 1965 Elvis film 'Girl Happy'.

Thanks! Liliane, that's a great piece to post! It was obvious that Elvis and Marilyn got along well and had fun doing that film. He looked happy during it, his eyes sparkling, that smile natural and bright. I thought he looked better
at that time in his life than he had in a while... He felt good I think, and he
doing what he loved to do...performing live again! It is so nice when one can read that men who worked with him, directed him and had time to converse
with him, come forth and express how much they liked him, how nice he was and that they really enjoyed the time they spent around him. It was not just women who found him a wonderfully kind and intelligent guy, men noticed it
also! Elvis was always hoping that there would be a goodly (his word) number
of men in his audiences, not just young women and women in general but fans
of the male gender. He wanted to please everyone, "my friends, my fans" he
would say, "they are the ones I want to perform for as well as the new ones
who come an' don't know much about me, 'cept what they've read or heard.
God knows that hasn't always been accurate. Best way is to come 'un see
for them self. Those are the people we have to work hard for, show 'em the
best we got." (he was referring to his group as well as himself...he always
credited them saying it was his onstage group "makin' me look good".
Great read Liliane!

Even I know this article, it is always nice to re-read them. So many people who worked with Elvis or knew him, everyone says just good things about him - except his friends. I really hope that all fans finally merge the eyes and they realize what is truth and falsehood.

Thank you Liliane. I really aprecciate your effort and work in case of Elvis a lot. :hello:
