Post subject:  After Larry left..............

My brother, Larry, loved Elvis and he loved God. He served in the American military and he was an all around really loving man.
His favorite song was If I Can Dream. He had a friend who put just that song on a cassette and Larry played it over and over when he was driving and sometimes when he was at home.
On August 18th of 1987 Larry died. He was 47. Elvis' If I Can Dream was played at Larry's funeral and anyone who knew Larry understood why the song meant so much to my brother.
A year or so after his death, his widow was outside and the girls were in town. She was talking with the neighbor in the backyard. Suddenly through the open window, If I Can Dream came on and she could hear it. No one was in the house and the cassette was on a shelf next to the table where the cassette/radio was located.
When I heard about the story I was not too surprised because it had happened once before just a week after Larry died. A family member had made some food and was taking it to Larry's house. The car was gone and Larry's widow had left a note saying that she and the girls had just gone up to the store. The family member was going to sit on the porch and wait for their return. Except she became frightened. It was getting toward dark and the house itself was dark. If I Can Dream could clearly be heard from the porch, coming from within the darkened house, but the cassette was in Larry's car and the radio was off. The family member went home and she then called Larry's widow to let her know that it was she who had left the food on the porch. She asked Larry's widow if she had left a radio on and the answer was no. Then she asked if she could borrow the cassette tape with the single song on it. Larry's widow said she would get it from the car in the morning and drop it off to the other family member.
Larry was a special man and so was Elvis.

Wonderful story! And I believe those things can and do happen and are willed by those departed and those who wish to be remembered and to let their loved ones know, I'm here, I'm with you. You bet I believe it.
Thank you for posting it. Someone who comes here will need to read those words. wjh

Post subject:  Thank you

Larry was a special brother and he had a lot of wisdom. He would write me letters and in one, not long after I began teaching grade school, he wrote and said: "Just remember that Jesus is the first teacher." Larry was a beautiful man and so was Elvis and I miss them both,

MSue, it's a wonderful story and the things that happened and still happen are wonderful, too. Only believe, all things are possible..... :)
